I interviewed and assigned Evan Whitefield as Venture-Captain of Albany, NY today.
Since it is unlikely we will have another announcement blog for awhile, I wanted to make sure Evan received his due and wanted to formally welcome him to the Venture-Captain family. I look forward to watching the New York Capital region area grow and flourish with Pathfinder Society events in the future.
Welcome aboard Evan!

Greetings Evan, and welcome!
I'm running games in Bennington, VT, just about equidistant between you and Myles.
I've been working with Myles to throw a Beginner's Box Bash Saturday, December 10th at our FLGS here in Bennington. Not sure if you have any contacts as far east as Cambridge or Hoosic, but any you could send our way would be helpful! ^_^
Also, what and when is your Game-a-thon? I'll offer my services if I can fit it in my schedule!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
@Myles,
Congrats to you as well. Hopefully we can work out some GM swapping for cons.
@Sir Geshko,
Schenectady Wargamers Accusation holds Game-a-thons every month, usually the second Saturday. We run two slots of PFS, the first from 11am-4pm the second 5pm-10pm. We also have the Council of Five Nations con every year in October. This past Council we were able to run the Battle interactive which was awesome. Any support you can offer would be great and we will do what we can to help you out over in VT.
@ Daniel,
Do you make it back there? I was just talking to the coordinator for the new Buffalo Con: Queen City Conquest! thats going on in September you should check it out.
Brett McLean, the VL and I are going to make it out to TotalCon this year so hopefully we'll get to meet up with some of you there.
So as far as my daily postings any suggestions on where to concentrate?

Gratz on the promotion Evan! When we exchanged emails this morning on the Queen City Conquest! con in Buffalo and you referenced your recent appointment - I didn't realize it was this recent! Congrats and looking forward to meeting everyone in central and upstate New York.
Since Im working on the Pathfinder line for the Buffalo con - please count me in on those GM swapping ideas!

Welcome Evan!
It's great to see another VC nearby.
Any support you can give to Western Mass. will be appreciated. I don't get out that way very much (at all really).
Since Myles is based between both of us, we should talk in private on how to over-utilize him.
Feel free to sign-up at the TotalCon PFS warhorn site:
http://warhorn.net/totalcon-pfs
Everyone still needs to register with the convention (starting in January), but mustering for PFS (players and GMs) is open now.
Will you (and/or Art) be supporting Carnage 2012 or should I add it to my list.

Carnage is allot of fun. I have been going there on and off for years. I don't want to poach from Art, but I'm sure there is allot i can do to run point at that con. Its only a 2 hour drive up I-91 for me.
Thank you Don, i have to get moving and make sure i have signed up for Total con to GM.
Myles
Bret, Carnage on the Mountain is held in a hotel Hmm i have been ninja'd by Don.

Congrats, Evan!
Don, once I get through TotalCon, I may be looking into attending Carnage. When/where is it? I've got in-laws in New Rochelle and if I recall, the convention isn't too terribly far over the border into CT.
Brett, there's a Venture-Lieutenant in CT as well - Will Wadhams. And I'm sure if help is needed, Don, he'd be willing to help with Carnage or any other Cons in that area or suggest GMs willing to help out in New England as well.

The Monday night Zombie Planet game is yours?
Evan Whitefield wrote:Thanks Mike!
Looks like I should be able to kick things off with a bang too. I'm hoping to have a record turn out at December's Game-a-thon.
I was running a Monday night PFS game at Zombie Planet for a while over the summer, but between Labor Day, hurricane Irene, and school starting for the kids, things fell apart. The current Pathfinder game they've been advertising is someone's home game, not PFS. I'm hoping to get PFS going again after the new year.
If you want to keep up with what we're doing in the Albany area, we've got a Facebook page HERE.

Yes, my parents still live in the area so I head up that way on occasion. I wasn't aware of that con, I'll have to keep it on my radar and see how next September shapes up on my calendar.
Talwynor, feel free to keep me in the loop, if I'm available I may be able to pop in as a visiting GM. However, I don't want to get in the way of the coordination that I'm sure has already started.
Dan
