High much?

I sign. I can never resist posting in them, and it doesn't often end well.

All I wanted back in the day was a "serious bidness" off topic section, so I could close that section and be done with it. This works just as well, and although there seems to be the inevitable bleedover, it's way better now.
I can just ignore the bloodclots, and the threads I can just hide.

Not gonna sign that. There are alternatives for those who don't like them, and politics is a part of being a community. Yes, GRAR-fests happen, but nowadays it rarely comes to that is my feeling.

No way. The political discussions here have more depth than most other places, including Washington (how sad is that?)

Liberty's Edge

You know, I think this is the first thread worthy of my ignorance. So I will leave you to it.

I think political discussions are much more entertaining if all posts have to be in one of the three following formats:

Haiku
Sonnet (Either Elizabethan or Spencerian)
Sestina

It's pretty F*ing awesome you can self ban threads now. It's like I have my own private BANHAMMER. Embrace the awesome that is the circle slash, you'll love it!

The Exchange

But without those threads the azzhats would just flame the fun off topic threads. :S

Yep. The hide feature is the most elegant solution to a long-standing issue with this forum. I used to want to ghettoize the grar threads, but being able to custom ban is a solution that allows everyone the freedom to decide what appears on ther screen. All hail the PMG!

Hear! Hear!

I thought that the hide thread feature was going to put an end to all this complaining! The hide thread feature now allows everybody to have the type of fun that they enjoy. Some people love arguing about the minutiae of the rules and can't understand the political threads. I feel exactly the opposite.

Live and let live, people! And if you can't help but get worked up because someone in OTD is posting an opinion you can't stand, maybe you should exercize some self-control and ignore it rather than complain to the moderators.

I know, some people think: this is a gaming website, why should there be political threads? I don't know. Why should there be comic book threads, or music threads?

In short, if you go into the political threads, chances are somebody's going to say something that pisses you off. If you can't deal with it, STAY OUT!!!!

I can see why they elected you Burgomeister!

Hee Hee!

The hide thread feature sucks because it limits the amount of people I can annoy!

Hee hee!

I'm sure there are plenty of Right-wingers willing to still go toe-to-toe with you Herr Burgomeister. I'm just glad I don't gotta see it anymore

Hee Hee!
