That is what I thought. I had house-ruled for a while that in order to get a skill your class was not traditionally trained in (e.g. A Fighter wanting to pick up Disable Device, or a Barbarian wanting Linguistics) you had to find a trainer and invest in time and possibly gold. (The gold was usually circumvented by a party member doing the teaching.) But it occurred to me I may be doing that for no reason or breaking some sort of rule as you weren't supposed to be able to use trained class skills anyway.
