looking into the rules section, shows that by raw this spell hasnt been changed to allow oracles to use charisma instead of wisdom. Am I corect on this? IS this how other GM's rule this? Also, do you allow them to choose a weapon to one of the listed gods, or use the generic aliament weapons listed?

The core spells didn't take the Oracle into account I would allow Oracles to use their casting stat (CHA) - RAI if you ask me.

Started this in the PFS section to get RAW, but it got moved I see. Just wondering i I missed An updated answer.

nothings changed RAW. It goes to wis. PFS will require wis.

A GM is, of course, free to houserule spiritual weapon so that it plays off of Charisma for oracles, but as written (and in PFS) it uses Wisdom to modify things.

And honestly, I'm okay with this. It means the spell is a better choice for clerics than it is for oracles, and that it works better for clerics than oracles. From a flavor standpoint, this is cool because clerics are more tied to favored weapons than are oracles (all clerics gain their deity's favored weapon as a bonus feat, after all), and as a result, you could argue that the "bonus" that clerics get when they cast this spell over an oracle comes from the fact that they're more closely tied to the "spiritual" side of the weapon.

There's already spells that oracles can cast that clerics cannot, so I don't see a problem if one or two spells that they can both cast end up being better for clerics.

This section of the message boards isn't PFS. So RAI is perfectly fine.

the OP specifically requested RAW, and started it in the PFS forum to get that. thats why I answered the way I did. to answer the OP

Thanks all for ansewer. Thought I may have missed something. I like JJ's answer in that it is more of a cleric spell as for favorite weapon goes. Again thanks.

While it's true that Spiritual Weapon was printed before the oracle came out in APG, Spiritual Ally was not. It is from the same book that the oracle debuted in. It also requires wisdom and not charisma. Now, not saying this couldn't be an oversight. But that's my take.
