Advanced Race Guide Playtest

So, there I sat with my group. One player wanted to play a Mobility Fighter using Two-Weapons. He also wanted to be an Elf. However, he looked at the Elf traits. He didn't like the -2 Con, and he knew he wasn't going to get any use out of the Elven Magic trait. He looked in the APG, but alas nothing appealing. Thus, he voiced his concern.

Looking for what could be done, I hit up the Advanced Race Playtest. "Is it possible to make Elves that are cut from a not so magical cloth?", I asked myself.

I came up with this solution. If you remove the Elven Magic trait, that gives you 2 RP to bank. You take away the standard ability mods(+2 DEX, +2 INT, -2 CON costing 0 RP), and replace them with the flexible modifiers(giving a +2 DEX and +2 INT costing 2 RP). You still have your Elves' quickness in mind and body always advertised, and you lose the useless Elven Magic trait.(Useless in the case of a Fighter/Ranger/whatever.)

So far, I think it was a decent decision. It's definitely helped the Player and me, who both wrote up Elven Fighters(Curve Blade plus Two-Handed Fighter = Fun), and I think it'll be useful down the road. Looking forward to the full book.

Elven magic for an effective +2 con? Waaaaay no balanced, i don't care what the race points are.
