Map & Key Placement

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

This issue has only leaped out at me with Jade Regent, since I've run previous APs from PDF files, and now I'm working from the printed product (which is a hit with my group).

I don't care as much where the illustrations appear in relation to their descriptions, but I would love to see maps and their keys appear on the same spread, preferably on pages full of room descriptions, not necessarily starting with the first area description. The more cross-referenced content I can see without turning the page, the better.

Also, I'd love to see overland maps appear on the same spread as the descriptions of the caravan travel. They needn't be new maps, but it'd be a great reinforcer to have a graphic reference while reading the text description. Alternatively, in APs that cover a lot of territory, I'd prefer to have maps on the endpapers rather than the (admittedly gorgeous) monster illustrations. Granted, I'm more a location guy than a monster guy.

The dream would be to have newly illustrated maps representing those that Sandru uses for his journeys. But reprints of existing maps would be fine.
