Liberty's Edge

Hello All,

Can anyone tell me where in the rules the age categories are? I can't find them anywhere. I've been running Carrion Crown and was looking at doing the stats for some of the NPCs and have found that they mention young human and old human a lot.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

You will find the information on Table 7-2: Aging Effects. The actual changes to ability scores are in the footnote at the bottom.

However, if you are looking at the NPC statblocks from the adventure, the changes are probably figured in already.

Have fun!

OK, in that table there is middle age, old age, and venerable age but there is nothing in there about young age. Would Young be the same as the Young Template where:

  • Size decrease by one category
  • AC reduce natural armor by –2 (minimum +0)
  • Attacks decrease damage dice by 1 step
  • Ability Scores –4 Strength, –4 Con, +4 size bonus to Dex.

As for the stats in the AP, I'm talking about the ones where there are no stats. I do those just for fun.

I could be wrong, but isn't Carrion Crown 3.5?

Anyways, yes, the young template should do it for young characters - that is, children, not 17-year olds.

I just go by the hard minimums as far as age. At 16, a human can become a barbarian, rogue or sorcerer. Therefore, 16+ is an adult, in hard, physical game terms.

Below that age, you get the young template, even if you're 6' 6" and 200 lbs.

Once you're 16, though, you can get your greataxe license.

I have a friend who is talking about running Carrion Crown, and I'm looking to play a character in that game when he's prepared to run it.

I've looked at the Player's Guide for it. It's definitely Pathfinder. The Player's Guide mentions how Inquisitors, Witches and such are treated, and suggests some skill choices.

Carrion Crown is definitely Pathfinder. The first proper Pathfinder AP was Council of Thieves and has been PF ever since. Legacy of Fire was the last of the old 3.5 APs.

Thank you all for the help. Now to convince HeroLab to add those in :)

Oh, okay. I don't have any idea of the chronology, playing mostly homebrew. :)

Threadnecro in order to find a link to the non-standard races age categories. Anyone got anything?

EDIT: Specifically, I'm looking for Aasimars, Dhampirs, Drow, Fetchlings, and Tieflings

ARG. Look it up on the PRD in the ages table.

More specifically, Mister Lion, go here.

Excellent. Thanks! :)

Wait didn't you link to those before Lord Lion?
