OwlCon is coming. After the response last year which created 28 tables out of 24 that were planned for, the organizers are asking for a Gaming Coordinator for PFS to sit in on the planning sessions. Is anyone interested in the position? I have been their point of contact for the last three years, but it would be nice to know if we had a Venture Captain.

If you are interested, email me at silverhair2012(at)gmail(dot)com.

Someone has signed up for the Coordinator slot. Standby to hear from him soon.

If you have not joined it, please go ahead and submit to join and then please email the Austin Venture-Captain David Woodfin at texasvcwoodfin(at)gmail(dot)com.

It is a great page to contact Texas players and we are trying to get them all!

@Dragnmoon,
I tried to get to the calendar but couldn't, so I left without posting on Obsidian Portal. Don't really have a need for signing up.

Yeah, you need to be a Member of the group to add to do anything on that page..

And you don't play PFS anymore? I know you got burned out last year, so I would not be surprised if the answer is yes.

1/5

Strangely the answer is yes. I was not even sure I wanted to tackle OwlCon this coming year. Thankfully someone else stepped up to handle the challenge.

Paizo Employee Director of Game Development

Who's going to be coordinating for OwlCon?

1/5

I heard from Andy Solberg that a Kelly Youngblood is the PFS Coordinator that will be attending the planning sessions. Adam, I can send you his email or you can contact Andy to get it.

Grand Lodge 4/5 *

You may have to host the planning sessions at strange times given when I work. (Evening shift Wed-Sun, though I hope to wrangle Sundays off by the time Owlcon hits.)

You can email me at

Spoiler:
youngblood (dot) kelly (at) gmail (dot) com

1/5

@Kelly,
I would like to ask who are you talking to?

Grand Lodge 4/5 *

Greg and Brett. They had mentioned having me talk to Jerry, but I never got in touch with him.

If fear there has been a miscommunication, as I did express interest in coordinating, but had not committed to it (due to said work schedule).

Please contact me by email to sort things out.

Just a quick update. There is plans in the works to get PFS in one location this coming year. However, that might require using a building not used before. In light of that fact it is requested that if that happens, please pick up your trash and leave the room like you found it. I trust this is me preaching to the choir. The better impression we leave on the university the better it is for us the next time.

Have you founf an Organizer yet? If not I can post on the PFS Texas boards seeing if anyone will take it up there.

The guy that offered to be the Coordinator is having some work schedule problems. Andy Solberg and Kelly Youngblood are trying to work things out. But the answer to your question is ,No, we actually don't have a Coordinator. So I think it might not be wrong to go ahead and post the request. The point of contact would be through the OwlCon website and contacting Andy Solberg the Gaming Coordinator.

Grand Lodge 4/5 *

Good news everyone!

We have cleared up the lines of communication and I am confirmed as the Owlcon 2012 Pathfinder Society coordinator.

Sign-ups aren't open yet, but those who judge 2 tables will receive free admission to the con.

Kelly, I think you meant OwlCon 2012.

I played the Pathfinder Society Special: Blood Under Absalom (PFRPG) at GenCon this year. If you are able to get this special for OwlCon 2012, I can GM one of the tables.

It's still a little ways out for me to commit 100%, but I can run a slot or two. I'll probably do the same thing I've done the last two years and just drive down for the day. Feel free to email me, Kelly, and we can hammer out something more concrete. (email is in my profile)

I am trying to gauge interest in a possible run of "Eyes of the Ten" at Owlcon. Sound off if you will be attending and have a 12th level character.

The Exchange 1/5

Roagh is 11. I don't know what the odds are of finding 3 games before the Con, but if I do...

The schedule is not quite finalized yet, but I have established a mailing list for Pathfinder Society GMs for Owlcon. If you are interested in GMing, you can sign up here: http://pfs-at-asgard.net/owlcon

GM 2 or more slots to get a free convention pass.

I'm interested in coming down for this, but don't know about transportation. When do you need to know by for GMs?

If you could save me a slot, that would be awesome. I GMed (with Silverhair) the first PFS games at OwlCon, and again the next year, but missed last year due to extenuating circumstances.

I'd really like to pick up where I left off :-)

Player pre-registration opens Friday the 9th at midnight!

If you are planning to play Eyes Of The Ten, please sign up as soon as you can so that I can confirm we have enough players for the arc.

3-6 more GMs are still needed for Pathfinder Society play. If you are interested, email me. As always, my address is under the spoiler:

Sorry. Pre-registration has been delayed to next Friday (Dec. 16).

I'm excited for this, I've been missing out on some good PFS action. I'm still looking for a regular group in North Houston, Tx.

Registered (and paid) for Owlcon.
The Team Cheliax fiends will all be present at XXXI.
Email sent to Kelly for warhorn access.

We're bringing Team Monk (new lower level characters with at least one level of monk).

Looking forward to familiar faces (Dragnmoon, Daigle, Woodfin, Silverhair, etc.) and some fun games of PFS madness.

maybe Im confused...

I now have an account and access to Warhorn...
but I can't actually sign up for anything.

Do I need to wait for a reply/some action from Kelly before I can do that?

Cool, should be able to make it this year! Will there be a 1st level table?

I'll need to clear you for sign-ups. Organized play sign-ups may not open until tomorrow evening when I've discussed a couple issues with the other planners.

DM Barcas wrote:

We have a special treat for 1st-level players this year. Adam Daigle will be in attendance to run his own scenario First Steps - In Service To Lore Saturday afternoon.

And, in case you missed it, Pre-registration is now open!

Note: 3 more GMS are still needed.

Any chance you'll run Parts 1-3 (perhaps one each day) so I can get a PC up to level 2 in one weekend?

Grand Lodge 4/5 *

We're running the entire First Steps series, but in reverse order to best suit Adam's schedule. You can start off with A Vision of Betrayal Friday night, follow up with To Delve the Dungeon Deep Saturday morning, and finish with In Service to Lore Saturday afternoon just in time to be level 2 for Blood Under Absalom Saturday night.

We'll also have plenty of 1-5 tables running the whole convention, and, if we end up with overflow GMs: We Be Goblins!

Thanks for the reply.

I'll keep waiting and checking.
I've got a party of 3 that want to play the Quest for Perfection mod series together...

This demands a Team Cheliax table for the interactive.

Just for your reference Goatlord, I will most likely not be running any PFS this year at OwlCon. I should be able to attend and maybe we will see each other, but not as GM/player.

@bdk86:

unfortunately Team Cheliax already played the interactive at Gencon this year. Much insanity was beheld at the level 11 table (with then-Venture Captain, now-PFS overlord Mike Brock). We all escaped alive, eventually.... though Torath had an 'unfortunate' encounter with a very sexy assassin in his lordly tavern suite.

@silverhair:

Well, even though you're not coordinating or gming, perhaps we'll run into one another. Bring a level 2 and join up with Team Monk! We'd love to have ya.

@ Goatlord,
Here is the list of my PFS characters.

Chandra Damayanti Inquisitor 3
Gwyndulf Alchemist 4
Shaggolk Ranger 3
Magael Nyane Raven Witch 1

Paizo Employee Director of Game Development

Ah, Team Cheliax, how is it y'all were the most sane part of a 7 PC table where everyone had pets last year? Oh, right.

Goes to show, folks like y'all, and the mighty Baron, are a shining part of an otherwise sketchy faction. :) Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year.

I'm trying to work it out where I don't just drive in for the day, but my day job is being the troublesome part at this point.

@Silverhair:
Looks like all of your characters are viable options. I'll be looking for you.

@Daigle:
Glad you remember us.
We do strive to be memorable ;)
I never did manage to get you to sign my copy of Book of Drakes at Gencon this year. I'll bring it to Owlcon, just in case.

Since Team C has already played the interactive, we've got an open space in our schedules... if ya wanna hang out (or possibly run another session of In Service to Lore) at the late Saturday slot, Kelly, Sean and I will be available.
