1 level dip, or archetype / inquisition??

Ok, planning on playing in an adaptation of PF rules, set in a post modern/apocalyptic type setting, with minimal guns and such, still with magic.

So, I am planning on playing an Inquisitor, and I kind of wanted the character to be a weapon freak, loaded for bear and armored like a tank. One of those guys that when someone says to drop his weapons, takes 3-4 rounds getting rid of everything. I know it may not be optimized, but its the flavor I am going for.

I was thinking of taking straight Inquisitor, and taking the Inquisition of Black Powder (UC)since that gives me a gun and the ability to use them, and since the Domain powers are kind of weak and Inquisitors don't get extra Domain spells, but then I was reading the limitations on weapon proficiencies, and wondered would it not be better to take a 1 level dip into Gunslinger, with the Pistolero archetype for all the weapon proficiencies and then go straight Inquisitor? I had also kind of imagined taking a lvl 1 dip into Alchemist to get bombs, kind of a grenade chucking gun toting armored sword wielding holy hand of god type guy. I was going to take the Witch Hunter archetype for the Inquisitor, too.

TL;DR : Is it better to dip 1 level Gunslinger than take the Inquisition of Black Powder and go straight Inquisitor?

Anyone with relevant advice/builds would be greatly appreciated.

I'd dip one level into Gunslinger and take a more useful Domain. Have your cake and eat it too.

I'd go with Gunslinger (Pistolero) 1 then Inquisitor (Preacher) X, probably with the Conversion Inquisition.

Dipping into gunslinger is probably a better way to go than is the Black Powder Inquisition. It slows down your spell casting and acquisition of good abilities (more judgements and bane primarily), but you get a lot more proverbial bang for your buck that way.

If you are looking at having a high charisma (something that can be good as a face type character, but not necessary for an inquisitor), I would recommend the mysterious stranger archetype as well. While I am not a fan of it for the gunslinger, it is a great way to dip as you can get charisma to damage with guns a few times a day (based on grit and you should have a decent wisdom, so a lot more grit; for a gun slinger I much prefer to get Dex to damage with out spending grit at level 5).

I would probably recommend against dipping into alchemist unless by some miracle you have a really good INT as well... If you are playing a melee fighter you want good STR, good DEX if you are planning on primarily using guns, Wis for both gunslinger and inquisitor casting, CON for taking hits as you mix it up... you just don't have much in the free stats as it is... So not much to add with INT to damage on the bombs, and since you are just dipping into alchemist the bombs aren't scaling with level... I just don't see it as a good dip for you.

I should make the caveat that if your campaign is only going to lvl 5-6, then it may not matter and dipping like crazy might either be a great idea, or a really bad one as you never get abilities like Bane.

My advice, Inquisitor 1/Gunslinger 1/Inquisitor the rest of the way.

The campaign will probably start at 7th level. I am unsure how far or how high we will get it, but the GM seems to like higher level play. I plan on using a nice copious set of armor and a decent dex, so CON isnt that big of a deal to me, I will probably leave it at 10. To get the Mysterious Stranger bennies for high CHA is another stat I have to get above 10, and thats just a bit too MAD for me. I was going to go WIS primary stat, DEX secondary stat, STR tertiary stat. I plan on bane, judgements and buff spells to compensate for weaker BAB and damage bonuses. Pistolero archetype allows for add'l 1d6 on successful expenditure of 1 grit point, plus can Bane, so pistol damage should be 4d6 plus maybe having Deadly Aim in there too somehow. Judgements might allow for extra, as well as Point Blank Shot.

I was planning on Witch-hunter Archetype for the Inquisitor, or maybe the Iconoclast Archetype.
