Do "Water Child" half-elves get Aquan as a free language?

The Water Child race option (from the APG) gives you the option to pick Aquan as a bonus language something by my reading a half-elves can already do (See spoilers below). I checked the errata and the FAQ but this doesn't seem to be listed. I'm looking at just house ruling it be Aquan for free but I thought I check with the world to see if I'm missing something.

Both from PRD

Water Child:
Water Child: Some half-elves are born of elves adapted to life on or near the water. These half-elves gain a +4 racial bonus on Swim checks, can always take 10 while swimming, and may choose Aquan as a bonus language. This racial trait replaces the half-elf's adaptability and multitalented racial traits.

Half-Elf Languages:
Languages: Half-elves begin play speaking Common and Elven. Half-elves with high Intelligence scores can choose any languages they want (except secret languages, such as Druidic).

You did not miss anything. I believe that the Language part of Water Child is there for flavour, making it trivially easy for a watcher child to justify Aquan as a language.

If for flavor, it's a waste of words - you are already descended from Water Elves and can already select Aquan as a bonus language. Being descended from Water Elves makes it trivially easy to justify taking Aquan, a language you can already take.

It would be like saying a Half-Elf can take Elven as a bonus language then saying then can take any language with high intelligence, minus secret languages.

The limited list of languages for non-humans is weird, anyway. I don't know anyone who actually use that rule, or why it even still exist.

Yes, the editors often miss things like this.

Like in the PFS Field Guide. There is a prestige award that, among other things, allows you to use Profession (Sailor) to make Day Job rolls (a PFS mechanic to make money, if you are not familiar). Except... one can already use any Profession skill to make Day Job rolls. So there are other mechanical benefits the award gives, but that bit is just useless fluff.

No it's not. Before season 3 any money you got from Profession (Sailor) was assumed to have been spent on rum, eyepatches and parrot polish. It was in the season 2 guide to society play.
