...to get 1+1/2 strength?

You mean like the James T Kirk double-fisted-axe-handle-wallop? Sounds fine to me, but kinda silly, and definitely not usable as part of a flurry. I don't think it's unbalancing. Again, awkward, but not unbalancing. Gofer it!

Technically I think it's not allowed, as unarmed strikes are light weapons and thus not 2-handable.

But it has to be allowed! Why else would Kirk do it if not for the extreme practicality and combat efficiency of the double-fisted axe handle whallop?

their was a feat in 3.0 Forgotten Realms called Hammer Fist. nothing in pathfinder atm, I'm sure if you talked it over with DM and worked out a feat it could work

While correct until recently, this is incorrect now. Combining the Dragon Style and Dragon Ferocity style feats from Ultimate Combat gives you 2x Strength to Damage on the first attack, and 1.5x strength on subsequent attacks. This can be achieved as early as Level 2 Monk (Master of Many Styles).

What if you used the animated undead arm of a monk that you pulled off it's body and swung that around two handed? Oh wait a minute that would make you armed.

Three-armed, in fact.
