Wow, I can't believe I spent my entire morning reading about a skinned dog. Or was it a wolf or even a pony? Gave me a great idea for my next PC: a halfling Paladin with a riding dog re-skinned into a giant Squirrel.

All kidding aside ...

I believe the GM actually did the woman a favor. Say he let her have the pig (with dog stats so it would rules-wise function as a dog in the mod). And went so far as to say it was a pig and didn't just look like one.

Based on this particular mod, it would be VERY difficult to complete the mission successfully without a dead pig by the end. I assume she would choose not to leave the pig behind even with a stern warning about bacon loving goblins from the VC. (If players get to re-skin their PC, the judge gets to re-skin the mod.)

If she did leave Dumpling behind, her whole PC concept is shot.
Her: not happy, no fun.

If she brings her pig along: dead pig.
Her: not happy, no fun.

Some mods you just hit that special case where your PC is hobbled. Writers can't account for EVERY possible PC build every time.

The GM saved her from a possibly traumatic death. And from making the adventure much harder to complete successfully. It is the GM's job to consider everyone's fun at the table.

Oh thank God!

I had a completely different incident with a pig at Gen Con and for a minute I thought Chris was going post photos.

Thankfully I'm off the hook again!!!

You're right, I should be. But really, not everyone can do THAT with a pig, so there is a little pride...

I just should have given a little more thought to the whole... "Lets take pictures!" thing before they started to go all viral on YouTube.

Oh and for the record, we're talking about how NOT to barbeque a pig here folks.
I'm a science teacher, not a cook... and I don't live anywhere near Texas! I know nothing about how to perform a proper pig roast.

Oh, I can answer that.

1) Drive down to Mike Anderson's Barbeque
2) Order pork.

Done.

Huh.

I thought it involved inviting Don Rickles...

Necromantic pigs ahoy!

I love this thread. Not surprising since I love dogs so much.
