Components V, S, M/DF (rabbit fur)
Range 50 ft.
Target The caster and allies within a 50-ft. burst centered on

Duration 1 minute/level or until discharged Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance yes (harmless) Each creature affected by this spell is given the potential for greater success and glory. If the affected creature is benefiting from a morale bonus of any type, it can double that morale
bonus on one roll or check, before making the roll. Once an affected creature uses this spell’s effect, the spell is discharged for that subject.

I felt that it was OK to post things from the UC book now since the book is officially out now.

So after reading this text I wondering if this spell could work on the strength rage bonus from barbarians since that is a morale bonus. If it does apply it would be great for a surge in power when it is needed most. Even more terrifying would be a caster who would use it on a group of barbarian who then charge.

Why WOULDN´T it work on the Rage Morale Bonus to STR? (or to CON or Will Saves for that matter)
It should also work on the Superstitious Bonus, though that doesn´t stack with the Will Save Bonus
(though it DOES stack with CON bonuses to Fort Saves)

I´m not sure about the wording of the spell in that case: The spell seems to be assuming that just one bonus would be affected (seemingly reasonable, since it affects a specific bonus type which doesn´t stack), but in the case of Fort Saves, both Superstitious Morale Bonus to the Check and CON Morale Bonus to CON do affect that roll. Should/could both be doubled? This also goes for any Morale Bonus effect which says it stacks with other Morale Bonuses.

I only asked because the Str bonus from rage seems like an indirect moral bonus that might effect a roll. I guess you could say as long as it effects a roll then it works.

I am suddenly seeing armies of barbarian being pumped up by this spell.

Scarab Sages

Well before 3.? and anything modern, in AD&D2e the scariest party I ever saw was 4 Dwarven berserkers and the Beserker Cleric who could control, maintain and cause them to berserk in 1 round as opposed to 5.

5 Dwarves, 4 insane and raging, 1 cleric to heal/buff and ensure maximum mayhem.

Ultimately the sheer damage output and combat ability of this party means I saw the cleric heal maybe 5 times total. I saw the cleric resurrect 10-15 times.

Much fun.

This spell would help make that party more viable today, especially with the channel healing available.

So long as they're not Orc's with 'Amplified Rage' teamwork feat, which increases the bonus to +8 str & con with this it would be +12 or +16!!! at first level (for 1 attack) for only 1 (1st level)spell.

Oh that is just evil, I love it.
