We are about to launch our first gunslinger and were discussing possible prestige classes. Has anyone come up with a list of possible prestige classes that compliment the class? So far we only managed to scrape up the Arcane Archer and Order of the Bow (Complete Warrior).

If you are looking at 3.5 material, your best bet would be in the Paradigm Concepts Inc. Arcanis setting. The "Player's Guide to Arcanis" includes the Altherian Sharpshooter, Altherian Trigger Mage and Pistoleer. There may be additional prestige classes in some of their other sourcebooks - I make no claims as to their compatibility with the UC gun rules.

Other than a pretty loose interpretation of Arcane Archer, none come to mind.

Just picked up the Ultimate Combat and was thinking of a prestige class for the gunslinger that would be quite like the Iaijitsu master out of 3.5 Oriental adventures except it would be with pistols instead of a katana. History has placed quick draw masters of the old west to be just as fast with their chosen weapon as those ancient samurai were. Another option would be a sniper, someone who focuses on the long arms such as rifles at great distances and doing devastating damage with the called shot grit ability.

Gunslinger (Pistolero)/Assassin (really nasty close-ranged attacks against flat-footed foes using poisoned pitted bullets)

Gunslinger/Alchemist/Master Chymist (lose a lot of deeds, but gain bombs, extracts, and Dex mutagen)

Gunslinger/Shadowdancer (lose some deeds, but gain command over shadows and some rogue talents)

Quick Draw feat + Gunslinger Initiative deed (gained at 3rd level) lets the gunslinger draw a firearm as part of the initiative check (in other words, before any actions are taken in the round). Is that fast enough?

Would the sniper be like an 8th level musket master (archetype) using the Steady Aim deed (move action; +10 to range increment, stacks with other abilities that increase range increment) the round before making a Dead Shot (deed; full-round action), possibly using the Deadeye deed (touch AC beyond first range increment), with a +1 distance musket (80 ft range increment)? Add the Far Shot feat; at 11th level add the Signature Deed (Dead Shot) feat.

Liberty's Edge

I second the Gunslinger Shadow Dancer, toss in a dash of rogue and you have an amazing ability to get some acrobatic shots.

Though, how about the Gunslinger to Stalwart Defender? Student of War is also viable.

Mixing the ability to be insane at close and medium range though...gunslinger duelist. It's just filled with options and really let's you capitalize on that dex score, especially if you're willing to go dervish.

I'm actually making a PFS gunslinger right now, and I'm going to take all 10 levels of Gray Corsair with him. There's also the shield marshal prestige class, which is meant for only gunslingers, and there's even an archetype (thronewarden) for the shield marshal.

I know I'm a bit late, but the info is still good for others who look up the same thing I did.

You realize, I hope, that regular PFS only goes to 11th level, so you’d only get six levels of Gray Corsair. (You may have a group set for Seeker-level play, but that’s not regular PFS.)

Chernasardo Warden could be fun. It's easy to qualify for if you can satifsy the special condition. It will also give you 5 levels of aligned class, which *might* let you qualify for signature deed with a 6th gunslinger level.
