Illusionist "priest" of Sivanah

Rules Questions

The Exchange

HI, this is my first time posting, and I hope I can find a little help. If this question has been answered please point me to the post.

In the Gods and Magic resource it mentions that the lesser Goddess Sivanah is known for granting her Illusionists the ability to use Shadow conjuration spells to produce a healing spell. It also gives an example of using Shadow Conjuration as the component to making a mask of the Living God Razmir, to mimic a healing effect.

Other posts I have read take this as common knowledge or at least acknowledge the existence of this possibility. So, in this I have a question. I made my first PFS organized character. He is an Illusionist, and a follower of Sivanah. If this is a valid possibility, how does it work? Can the Illusionist cast cure light wounds on himself? He is aware it is an Illusion so therefore would in theory already fail his save. Would he be healed, and if so, for how much? His compatriots, knowing his forte for magic, would they need to fail a will save in order for this to work? I understand the flavor this idea adds to a strange "priest" of a goddess of shadow, but it has opened a little can of worms for me if I wish to expand on my PC in this manner and take advantage of it.

So, it says it in one of the official resources. It's used twice in said book to give it precedent. Various board post have acknowledged it as a fact of sorts. Is it a legit optional rule for Illusionists of this deity? Is it divine or arcane magic. What are the rules for saves and resists and basic function of Shadow Conjuration used in this matter?

thank you for your time

Shadow conjuration lets you mimic a sorcerer/wizard conjuration (creation) or conjuration (summoning) spell of 3rd level or lower. None of the cure spells are on the sorcerer/wizard list and they are conjuration (healing) anyways, so I don't see how this would work. Sorcerers and wizards do get access to infernal healing, which grants fast healing 1 against most damage, but is still a conjuration (healing) spell with the [evil] tag to boot. So I still don't see how it could work.

If you could make it work, though, you can always voluntarily fail your will save versus the illusion in order to get full effect from the shadow conjuration rather than the reduced 20%.

Oh, I am totally aware of the normal limitations of the Shadow Conjuration spell. I'm only referring to the case stated in the Gods and magic book and under nearly reference to the goddess Sivanah and her "priesthood".

here is just one reference to her, and what I'm talking about. this is from the Pathfinder wiki page.

The worship of Sivanah is popular in the countries of Nex, Irrisen, and in the cities of Katapesh, while it is strictly prohibited in Nidal, due to a ban by the country's clerics of Zon-Kuthon. She is also widely worshiped among the illusionists and gnomes of Golarion, who appreciate her devotion to their favorite school of magic.[2][3] Devout illusionists who follow her have been known to be able to mimic divine healing magics by use of their shadow conjuration spells

Oh, and the page that is referenced from the Gods and Magic, look like its p.47. Also in this same resource is the matter of the magic item mask of the god Razmir. it to has shadow conjuration as one of the components in its creation for its "false" priests to mimic healing spells.

actually i had thought of making a slightly mad gnome illusionist who thinks he is a demi-god ( gnomish god of illusions) who thinks he can heal with using shadow conjuration.

i would just like to see the party reaction when my heals actually heal someone in play

plus it would be fun to roleplay...

I don't have the answer to the question, I actually have exactly the same questions as Tattoogeek, so bumping this thread up and hoping for an answer :)

I'd love to see what people have done in terms of conjuration (healing) & shadow conjuration.

It's a strange line that so far as I can tell does not seem to reference any specific class, trait, spell or character option. There is the veiled illusionist prestige class that directly ties to Sivanah. It even lets you add spells to your class list of spells. However, it lets you add illusion spells and only from the wizard list.

A cleric could take the class and they would then be a "devout illusionist" that is able to cast healing spells. They can even cast shadow conjuration. However, it's all sort of back to front. They already could cast healing spells thanks to being a cleric, and the class lets them use shadow conjuration. Not the other way around.

Not even any of the deific obedience abilities of Sivanah allow you to use shadow conjuration to heal.

This feels like something the author threw out as a "cool idea" that was left intentionally vague so that someone else could do something with it. Only to be never followed up. At least not as a normal player option. For all I know there is an AP or standalone adventure that does something with it.
