Any more Arcane Discoveries coming in Paizo products?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

One for the Paizo folks really.

I love Arcane Discoveries (Fast Study is a must-have for my trusty universalist wizard) but I was hoping that we'd see more of them in Inner Sea Magic...

Can we get some more AD love?

Anyone? No?

There are no new arcane discoveries in Inner Sea Magic, nor do we have any scheduled to appear in any other book at this time.

Remember; they're brand new. The book they're in isn't even for sale at stores yet. Give us some time to find out if folks like them... no sense making more of something that people end up hating. If folks love the arcane discoveries, that'll tell us all we need to know right there, but it'll be at least a few weeks or more likely a few months before we have some reliable feedback.

Since someone mentioned us, the product in question is Ultimate Options: New Arcane Discoveries, and it does indeed contain 30 new AD, as well as two wizard archetypes.

Ah... right. Ultimate Magic is indeed out. Doesn't change the fact that we don't have any new arcane discoveries scheduled anytime soon, though.

Thanks James. Consider this a big thumbs up for ADs.

I did see the Super Genius Games book of them - in fact the blurb they wrote about wizards getting a bit left behind in terms of options was what prompted my original post. It cleanly sums up what I've heard at our gaming table.

However, for those of us who won't use third party... will you be continuing to support things like arcane discoveries, words of power and the like? While I can make my own, I'm certainly not averse to that, I can't use third party publishers.

Not using 3rd party publishers is self-constraining, in my opinion. My advice would be to try it out!

Anyway, at this point, we have nothing on schedule for this year or into the next that will be expanding upon arcane discoveries. That could change if we see a greater demand for them, but at this point that demand is not great enough.

I would, if I could afford it. All I can manage is the PDFs of the RPG line at this point. So if further books will have more of the little things, words of power, skirmisher abilities, arcane discoveries, that would be awesome.

I'd like to point out that the 3rd party thing linked above costs $2.99.

Is there any reason they are exclusive to Wizards?

Some of those would fit sorcerors as well as wizards (Immortality, staff liek wand, Multimorph).

As for the intellect invovled arguably while a wizard studies magic, a sorceror IS magic. But even if it is through study then a Sage bloodline should qualify.

Is there any play balance reason why a sorceror should not have access to them?

Wizards need MOAR LOVE.

Play balance isn't the only design principle.
