Likewise, there's no discernible argument for not having the bow transfer the ability to its ammunition

But is there a rule saying ranged abilities transfer automatically? I would have assumed they did, but I also assumed that a +3 bow would penetrate DR/Silver, and I was wrong.

Ghost Touch might be a special case. "The affected object can be counted as either corporeal or incorporeal at any given time." So a ghost touch bow can count as an incorporeal object, meaning a ghost could pick it up, but just because it's got that physical property doesn't mean it passes that property on to its ammo.

If paizo wants to set the persnicket meter to "chelaxian" and have a legal special ability that does nothing for a bow unless you're a ghost or beat on them with the worlds most expensive club they need to call that out.

Likewise, what happens if there's an enchantment that doesn't have that subscript 2 because there's no chart in the splatbook with it ? Does it simply not work with bows?

You just have to ghost salt all your arrows. Problem solved.

Ghost Salt is a heck of a lot cheaper too. Buy all the blanches, you never know.

I just want a rotary select quiver like Hawkeye. :)

My archers just have a bunch of quivers on their back. the rarer ones go more towards the middle and down so the more niche market the arrow is the closer they are to pulling something out of their...

A ghost touch weapon deals damage normally against incorporeal creatures, regardless of its bonus. An incorporeal creature’s 50% reduction in damage from corporeal sources does not apply to attacks made against it with ghost touch weapons. The weapon can be picked up and moved by an incorporeal creature at any time. A manifesting ghost can wield the weapon against corporeal foes. Essentially, a ghost touch weapon counts as both corporeal or incorporeal. This special ability can only be placed on melee weapons and ammunition.

Of course, the CRB already covered this by not having Ghost Touch in the Ranged table.

Looking through Nethys the only strictly ranged ghost touch weapon I can find is the Force Net which is a special weapon. There's several ghost touch daggers that could be thrown, and the Spear of the Honored Ancestors is a ghost touch spear that can gain Returning.

Looks like holy weapon balm or ghost salt is the go-to solution for ranged attacks against ghosts.

What are "Ghost Salt Weapon Blanches"?

It's a thing you apply to a bunch of arrows to give them ghost touch. Once used, the property wears off. But... you can do it in advance, it's cheap, and it lasts.

So I think that basically solves your problem, no need to enchant the weapon.
