Can a Magus use Spellstirke to deliver a touch spell from an item.
In this case they have crafted a wondrous item for casting shocking grasp at 3rd level.
Now he isn't use the Spell Combat ability, just activating the item and using the Spellstirke ability in place of the touch attack. Is this a valid use of the ability?

nope. Activating an item isnt casting a spell.so it seems the answer is no. But an arcana to do it wouldnt be a bad house rule
A definite "No" and even an arcana wouldn't be appropriate as the one made for a similar instance is limited to wand and spell combat.
Wand Wielder (Su): The magus can activate a wand or staff in place of casting a spell when using spell combat.
My guess would be to not allow the crafting of an inexpensive item that allowed unlimited "casting" of damage spells to be involved with the class mechanic.

I figured that the Spellstrike power was limited to spells cast by the Magus. Which limits them by the number of spells memorized and due to the fact that they would be subject to a AoO or have to cast the spell defensively.
I suspect a Scrolls would be admissible, because “A spell successfully activated from a scroll works exactly like a spell prepared and cast the normal way.”
A wand or staff, might be allowed via the “Wand Wielder” Magus Arcana options.
As for the Item, I normal would require approve of custom item, but in this case it's not totally up to me.
