shipment overtaking the previous one

Customer Service

Dear Paizo team,

I have a question concerning shipment. As I have learned recently you do not offer tracking for overseas shipment, which I do not get, but anyways:

Yesterday I received my order # 1737499, submitted July 5, 2011 but I am still waiting for my order Paizo Order # 1710833, submitted June 3, 2011 (Carrion Crown #4 and Undead Revisited).

My question is: can I conclude from this, that my previous order is gone/destroyed/dead/eaten by the big kraken lurking between there and here?

I know transit times can be long for the option I have chosen, but this strikes me as rather long and the overtaking issue makes me wonder.

Thanks for your answer, which is really appreciated!

Ruyan.

Any ideas?

It's really counter intuitive to think of it this way but the arrival time of one package doesn't really have any bearing on the other. The journey for some packages takes longer while others travel more swiftly, especially if they are different sizes.Your order #1710833 shipped on 6/10/11 with an estimated shipping time of 9-36 business days placing the estimated delivery time between 6/23 and 8/1. Some packages fly through the post while others become delayed, but don't worry we won't leave you hanging with no books we just need to give your order more time.

To confirm that from experience, I once had a package (not from Paizo) that turned up in the post three months after it had been deemed lost and replaced by the shippers. Everything else I've bought through them took at most 10 days in transit, over international distances.

Note: I'm not saying that Paizo Customer Service should wait three months before doing anything about the package in this case, just giving an example of how inexplicably messed up shipping times can get from personal experience.

Same here. I had a package through the US post office with delivery confirmation, the confirmation showed the package arrived a week after it was sent. Nothing in the mailbox. Got it replaced. Then about three months later it showed up in the mailbox. No explanation to where it had been all that time.

Hate to admit this but I worked in a military post office, one day while cleaning out the bottom of a mail bag, I found a letter that had been sent nearly seven years earlier. Oops! I've heard of letters taking decades, they fall behind a machine or sorting desk and not found until the post office was renovated.

Thanks for the replies, they are really appreciated.

Since the last shipment and the one coming have/ will shower(ed) me with enough books to last a couple of days, I am well prepared waiting a couple more days.

happy ending - shipment arrived today in good condition.
all hail counter intuition!

It's good to know your package finally arrived.

I have a similar problem. My order was split into two packages, the first arrived almost two weeks ago. The second I just got a few minutes ago.

Turns out the second package was sent to Canada instead of Australia. With about 4 delivery labels on it. FWIW... I can make out the address on the original label (through the Priority Mail one) and I can see the Australia on it. So someone at Priority Mail screwed up the label.

I have another order with the same issue.. got the first package a week ago.. still waiting for the second. I'm assuming that it's the same deal.
