We're considering something different for the next [i]Mysteries of...[/url] release and looking for advice. (The previous release, Mysteries of the Tengu Road, presents the yamabushi, taking inspiration from the 3.5E warlock and dread necromancer and combining that with the Pathfinder oracle.)
This series is all about player options (primarily through new classes). I love devising new classes--experimenting with new design and sculpting the rules into a thing of of beauty. But I'd like to add an element of patron feedback to the process.
I'm considering developing the next class a little differently: fund it as a small Kickstarter project and have the patrons help me brainstorm and playtest the new class, possibly on Google+.
I haven't pulled the trigger, yet, because I'm still working out the implementation. Is this something that would interest you?

I think so much can be added with a well designed, flavorful class. But I'm also aware that rules bloat is a concern for many GMs and players, so I feel that the patron feedback and playtesting is important. This way, everyone can be sure that each class has had a thorough trial by fire at the hands of the community.
I have several ambitious class ideas, but I want to start relatively simple to see how this new process works out. I'm tentatively planning on this first project to be the sacred necromancer: this is a necromancy specialist that explores other areas of necromantic magic than the stereotypical undead controller (though that aspect can certainly be included). I think there's a lot of potential here to explore ideas like "white necromancy," ancestor worship, ghost detectives, exorcists, and more.
I'm working on drafting the proposal and then... well, the community gets to decide the outcome! :)
If you're curious about how much you can blur the line between life and death and the ramifications of doing that, this will be the class for you!
I know it's kind of off topic, but...
The first time I saw this thread, I thought it read :
[Zombie Sky Pirates] Want to help design the new class?
:)
I am not opposed to creating zombie sky pirates if that's what people want! :D
