Conservative Drow pic?

Gamer Life General Discussion

I'm not a prude (far from it), but for story reasons I'm looking for an image of a relatively conservatively dressed (by PF standards) Drow female. I'd just like to use it as a prop at our next game because several players have no clue what a dark elf is and I don't want to present the character as a hyper-sexualized "bad girl" (yes, I know that is the role Drow--male and female--are supposed to portray)...at least not yet.

Help!

Thanks

*yes, I've tried google images

You may wish to check out Drowtales.com, an etreamly long running web comic. Very good.

As a guideline, is http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/DrowUnderdark_Gallery/104484.jpg dressed well enough for your purposes, or are you looking for something more conservative?

There are a few other good ones that don't show too much skin at the D&D art archives.

Yeah, I went and had a look, and those are very conservative boobs! :P

They do (or did, I stopped following about a year and a half ago) have a lot of fanservice, but you can occasionally see some good pictures of drow with clothes on :) .

Based on the website's homepage, I'd say there are several very talented artists there, but I am not so interested as to subscribe, and I am pretty sure the best stuff isn't going to be found in the free sections of the site.

Also, "a lot of fanservice" on a website that charges for subscriptions...? Hmmm... I don't have to say what I'm thinking.

Thanks for the comments. I think at this point I'm just going to photoshop out the body of a Drow so only the face shows. Hahaha ...sigh

Try here or here.
Many of these are pretty normal, clothing-wise.

I would be interested in your definition of "many" and "normal"...hahahaha

Indeed, Drowtales is the shiznittiest of nits. However, I greatly prefer their adult material- which you have to PAY FOR NOW!!!!!

While they've got their share of semi-nudes, they've got a reasonable selection of drow who are relatively covered.

Dark Archive

This one:

Female Drow

is wearing armor. Does it work?

Good to know.

However, I was merely singing it to the theme of Duck Tales.

I thought that would be more obvious in text than it was...

Now? I came across that page ages ago, they had the pay-site thing then, too.

Why not take a normal elf, slap some dark color on it, and instant-drow.

Why's it always gotta be about color wit chu? ;)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

This is actually the one I'm going to use probably. I'm just cropping it down a bit to be a headshot because of the armor. I was looking for a standard drow, such as a scullery maid, for instance, not one in armor, hence the minor photoshopping.

Having said all that, this is still not (in my mind) a drow. Drow are black. Not purple, dark blue, grey, or dark/light brown, but inky, oil-black. Ah well. I'll take what I can get in this situation. :)

Thanks all!

THAT'S RACIST!!! ;-P

Anyway, I think that a lot of artists paint them in those "non-drow" colours because painting a jet-black drow is not that easy.

I'd say she still counts as a "sexualized hottie".

Perhaps a little Pshop on THIS could achieve your "scullery maid drow" look?

I don't know. I wonder where that beaker's been.

I see what you did there.

Silver Crusade

I've seen an awesome fully armored drow pic that was certainly conservative but also looked pretty....questionable...as a thumbnail due to the position of her sword's hilt. I'll try to find it again.

edit-Turns out it was already linked in the thread!

Dude, freakin' Oglaf is less fetishized with their drow. ;)

I wouldn't call Oglaf fetishist. Naughty, puerile, silly, filthy - sure. But - no, wait, there was that thing where the guy got off on square boxes. They are a fetish thing. Occasionally.

Anyway, BJs really are adorable.

I mean, I'm not gonna lie, I'd still hit it. Lol. BUT she's still the most "scullery maid"ish Drow I've come across.

Great, another webcomic i like enough to follow...

"Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic", though in black and white (pencil art, very good) has many dressed, and undressed Drow. it is a nsfw comic, but one of the best, in my opinion.
