GenCon 2011 PFS Events

I know its late to be looking for these, but I am searching the database at GenCon's site and I see a bunch of Pathfinder events but they say level 12 and such. How do I look up PFS events on the database? I want to see whats left? I have friends who want to play with me and I want to know what I am looking for.

Is there a listing or something that can help me narrow the search. We want to play PFS not just pathfinder if we can.

Thanks for your help.

Looks like the PFS events are either starting with 'First Steps' or #03-04 type format (which is season number-mod number). Just searching the 'system' Pathfinder got 49 results (minus sold out stuff) but I do see some non-PFS stuff mixed in there.

Hope that helps narrow it down for you.

so i should look for the events that start with 03-04 in the title?

Assuming you already secured a badge, you can find the remaining events from your account home page.

Along the left side of the screen select [Find Events]

It will take you to the Events search page. Type [Pathfinder] in the game system search window and select the checkbox next to [Hide sold out events].

The search will reveal only the pathfinder events that are still available. Note that there is a mix of society and non-society events, so if you want to stick to organized play, choose the ones with a [#] in front of the description indicating it is a society scenario offering.

Good searching!!

I found them
but the four adventures that keep showing up are high tier events.

There are no low tier events now.
We are all 1 or 2 level tier characters.

I dont know what to do now.

i don't want to play a non pfs event and findout its awful

I don't know what to do now...any suggestions?

I see some (search title 'First Steps' (5)) events that are open, they are for 1st level characters.

The "Pathfinder Society Classic" event on Sunday is still open. That one lets your table decide what scenario you want to play and the assigned GM will take care of that for you.

Grand Lodge 2/5

Both of you thanks

The only First Steps thing has one spot left there are at least two of us

The classic on Sunday, we are leaving sunday morning.

We waited too long.

I just hope the rest of my riends can find stuff they want to do
cuz this looks like a bust. A lot of them this is their first
GenCon...

We were looking for events so they could play with another DM, Im the
only DM in our group.

Thanks for your help.

Looking for other events, a lot of is gone that I normally play
i can't imagine showing up at the con and trying to find an event

Yeah, Gencon is one of those events you really need to plan ahead for and register early.

There is a solid chance you will be able to do 'walk up' entries to most of the events but you won't be able to get picky about what you want.

Paizo has always been very good about seating generic tickets. If you want to play, I would advise getting a few and just arriving to the slot early. The line can get long and the further from the door you are, the less likely you are to get a game.

That's pretty much what I'm going to be doing. And since I'm going with a friend, we'll end up playing a low level character. I hope to get lucky and get into the big event, but that's much less likely due to the specialness of that event.

Since there seems to be a ton of 7-11 tiers not filled, I hope those DMs can run the low level stuff.

Surely...if events do not sell, it will be relatively easy for Hyrum to retask those GM's for other scenarios or cancel the scheduled table entirely. The assignments have not been revealed yet. There are always volunteer GM's hanging around who can jump in and run a table with little to no prep time.

There is also the possibility to grab some other "generic" players (lol) and an open table somewhere on the concourse and have a GM run you though an unscheduled scenario. If I have a table drop or an unassigned slot, I would be happy to do it for you.

This is what I would do.

When you search, search for "Paizo" and do NOT hide events. You'll see all of the PFOS games (and you can ignore the seminars).

You can then see what's available. Come 15-30 minutes early for the 8am morning slots and you should get a seat.

This is especially true later in the convention as players become increasingly fatigued and skip an 8am slot because they were up until the wee hours in a pickup game.

Is "pickup game" now the euphemism for "getting really drunk"?

Don't be despondent! As the other posters have stated, PFS goes to great lengths to seat as many generic ticket-holders as possible. Sometimes people don't show up, and other times tables will be filled all the way to seven players (pre-purchased tickets assume six player tables). Now, getting a sizable group of players with generic tickets all sitting at the same table will be pretty tough to do, but getting you all seated somewhere is often workable if you line up early, especially at the 8am slots.

YMMV ;-)
