This thread goes against everything the internet stands for.

I love it.

It is not hate against them. Many people want to play these classes, and they like them thematically. They are just disappointed by how they work mechanically.

Well some people might want too much out of them, but some just want them to be a little bit better.

The only one I haven't played lately was a rogue, and I have had fun each and every time regardless. DPR is a fool's game for the most part.

…or do what I think they should do better.

OP +1

and what is that? Or did you already make a thread on that? If so, where is it?

What, play characters instead of roles?

I think it really depends on your style of play, and what you want out of a character. and your personality type. i play a luchador grappling fiend monk game wise he sucks but. but he is not there to do max damage he is there for me to have a good time on sunday night and speak in my best Antonio banderas accent

I find that reading the posts of anyone who you don't like in Comic Book Guys voice makes them a million times better.

Why fun is the primary reason we do what we do, some people get mighty unhappy if they don't feel effective. Everyone wants something different from the game. Some can play a character that can fight his way out of a paper bag and still have a good time, others not so much.

@ the OP:It is not about outdoing anyone for the most part. It is about meeting the bar. Where that bar is happens to be something each person has to decide for themselves. The common issue is that for many of us the monk/rogue/barbarian does not reach the bar no matter what our standards are.

Personally I like the rogue, and I need to take a second look at the barbarian after the APG.

every barbarian i have come across has been a killing machine. plain and simple at level 1 it seems that the barbarian can kill like a 100 goblins.

And I thought I was the only one who did that... great minds.

Something I learned from a friend when he did it with the horrible DM I encountered in Austin.

I also kinda hear "Chicken Lady" from "Kids in the Hall" for some.

My schedule is full this R&R.

Silver Crusade

I love barbarians, monks, and rogues.

I just wish I could build the monk I actually want and have it work.
