Wildshape Attack Progression

Rules Questions

Sovereign Court

Once a Druid hits 8th level, they gain an extra attack from their BAB progression. Does this translate over to your wildshape ability?

Example: Tiger has Bite & 2 Claws, which applies?

  • Bite, Bite, Claw Claw
  • Bite, Claw Claw, Bite
  • Bite, Bite, Claw Claw, Claw Claw
  • Bite, Claw Claw, Claw Claw
  • Bite, Claw Claw

EDIT: Sorry for the ugly format of that list. The picture is screwing with it.

If an animal with multiple attacks takes a full-round action to attack with all of his natural attacks, he gets no benefits from iterative attacks based on BAB.

So it would be:

Bite, Claw, Claw.

You do not gain any additional interative attacks on natural attacks. Therefore, bite claw claw still applies.

Scarab Sages

PRD => Combat => Natural Attacks

For reference.

Thanks for the quick responses! I wasn't able to find the info under combat & full round attack option nor under wildshape or beast shape. Do you have any sources to cite, for if/when this might be contested?

EDIT: Yeesh... you guys are quick! Thanks, Arazyr!

Scarab Sages

You're welcome.

I don't even know for sure what question you are asking.

If you believe at 8th level you get and additional iterative attack with a manufactured weapon and this somehow adds an additional natural attack, then you need to read the natural attacks section if the Bestiary.

You don't gain additional natural attacks from high BAB.

Note that you could, in theory, make some kind of weapon attack even in tiger form. For instance, using an unarmed strike or an attack with armor spikes. Then your attack would be something like:

Weapon, Weapon (-5), Claw (secondary), Claw (secondary), Bite (secondary)

That's kind of a corner case, though.

Related question. Would a Tiger who got Hasted get an extra attack? Or do they still receive only the Bite, Claw, Claw attacks?

They would get an additional Bite or Claw, their choice.
