Please help me build a pure 6 level Magus with these stats

Advice

4d6 rolled (dm let us reroll 1s) 16, 15, 14, 13, 13, 10 Rolled 30hp so far (rolled pretty well).
I am asking for your help as I build characters that are team oriented while my co-gamers are an every man out for himself lot. Can only use phb and apg.

Well, since your only using PHB and APG, making a magus is going to be pretty difficult. They are vary hard to make effective without UM, you see...

But seriously, take a look at Walter's Guide to the Magus. it's still in progress, but the info already there is solid!

Thanks. I will. I can use Ultimate Magic, forgot to list it.

Well the first choice to decide is what you want to do? Do you want to be a front liner, protecting your fellow partymates and taking the brunt of the enemy's blows? Do you want to operate more in a support role, using spells to buff allies and hinder enemies while entering the fray a limited amount of the time?

If you want to be a fighting magus (which I recommend) then since you are limited to the core, apg and UM and dont have access to dervish dance, I think a strength based character is required, as without dervish dance your offensive damage will suffer if you go dex based.

I'd go dervish dance with your build.

Dex: 16
Con: 15
Int: 14

and distribute the rest. Go elf if you want, human if not, but make sure you get a +2 in the Dex, and put the 4th level point in constitution. Focus on damage dealing spells that don't require a save, like force punch/shocking grasp.

Thanks again guys. Sadly. no Dervish dance as the DM only allows things in current Adventure Paths (so no Falcuta as well :( )I decided on being a fighting Magus, as the rest of the party needs that kind of player.

In that case I would go human and strength based. With stats like yours I would probably go

Str 17 (15+2 human)
Dex 16
Con 14 (13+1 at 4th level)
Int 14
Wis 13
Cha 13

Depending on your preference you can reverse dex and int, it wont make a huge difference but it depends on which is more important to you.

For a weapon I think the scimitar is still a good choice regardless of whether or not you can dervish dance. Magi get a lot out of crits(spells strike criting is generally pretty awesome), so the more often you crit the better.

You are only 1 level away from medium armor, so the 16 dex should be enough if you make sure to have a defensive spell or two up in the first rounds of combat or before if you have time to prepare.
