Cloud and spider step question

Both of these feats are keyed off a monk's slow fall ability- but don't require a monk to have them- so what happens to sacred mountain and qigong monks? Is it based off their hypothetical slowfall distance?

That's how I'd run it, yeah. Strictly speaking, the feats should be useless to them (kind like how there's no caster level requirement to prevent Fighters from taking Silent Spell), but I'd allow it to work.

That's how I feel, plus I think the feat's writer mentioned somewhere on the boards that the slowfall thing was used more of a point of reference- in that he wasn't intending to give cloud step any distance to 20th level monks.

Happily that was FAQ'ed and Erratad for the next printing:

How do the Cloud Step and Spider Step feats interact with a level 20 monk who can fall an unlimited distance?

Both of those feats should allow the monk to travel up to 50 feet (if it weren't for the level 20 change to "unlimited," the mathematical progression of the monk class's slow fall ability would be 100 feet, and half that is 50 feet). The 2nd printing of the APG will reflect this information.

Oh, good. Because before it was silly.
