Looking to join PFS in East Phoenix / Gilbert Area

Since moving here over a year ago, I haven't been able to find any groups to play with, though I have been rather busy. I am looking to change that now. I have never been a member of any sort of organized play experience and I have no idea how to go about doing this. So, I was wondering where I can find the information and resources I need to know about and am looking to find the local chapter where I live and work in the greater Phoenix area. In particular, it would be best if I could stay on the east side as I live on the far east side of Phoenix in the Gilbert area. Are there any PFS chapters in the Gilbert/Chandler/Tempe/Mesa area looking for a new member? If not, I will just have to miss out on PFS as I can't afford the gas to go much further out than that.

Also, I have read a little about each faction, but don't really care for any of them. I know there are supposed to be new factions coming in the future, but can anyone make a good case as to why I should look to join any particular faction already available. I am skeptical of all of them, though if I absolutely had to choose one right now it would probably be the Andoran faction as I like their stated goals the best of any one already existant faction. I still wish there was another faction I liked better though. Hopefully, one of the new factions will be more appealing to me.

"A Gathering of Players" meets most weekends at Gamer's Inn in Mesa. Pathfinder weekends alternate with Living Forgotten Realms weekends.

This weekend is a quiet one, as most of the active players will be gaming at the Phoenix ComiCon.

The Cheliaxian faction representative gets lonely sometimes, and would surely appreciate more people joining her faction. She has also been known to throw impressive parties.

Thanks for the information. I will try it out, though I can't guarantee Cheliax will get my fealty.

I'm the coordinator for A Gathering of Players (AGoP). We play PFS on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. Tomorrow is a game day. We run two slots per game day. Both support low tier characters. You can read more and sign up on our Warhorn site, www.warhorn.net/gathering.
