[UM] Wizard Arcane Discoveries - Opposition Research

Product Discussion

This is too much! Jason Bulmahn I have to say this is a laps in judgment. This discovery basically allows a specialist to completely bypass their navigates with simply 2 feats. Now this works because they are not feats and thus can be taken multiple times.

I thought the universalist wizard before this book was weaker than the specialist before this book came out, but not to the point to where it was useless in comparison; with this book that has come very close to changing.

I now can't help but feel that the universalist has gotten the same hate PrCs have gotten. I know this might not be true, but doesn't change the feeling.

First an errata of this new class feature needs to be added where you can only take these once. Second PLEASE throw the universalist 's a bone! You have, in my honest opinion, severally under estimated the amount of benefit specialists get over the universalist due to the (non) restricted schools the specialists now have.

I know nothing can be done now, but this needs a fix as soon as possible, maybe something a little out of place in the Complete Combat just for the Universalist Wizard?

Guess I am alone in this one, or no one has noticed this thread or the new ability.

Liberty's Edge

Nah, I generally think the Universalist is superior to the specialsts, but this new Feat might make the opposite true.

Liberty's Edge

I'd argue that the Opposition Research can only be taken once already. All the other discoveries that can be taken multiple times have the words "You may select this discovery multiple times" somewhere in them. But that is just my opinion and how I'd rule it.

I think that the opposed school should come back to 3.5, OP.

So, go figure how much I like this discovery :P
