Blood Crow Strike is evil. Is there any way to make it not?

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Well, looks like Paizo caved and took the Evil descriptor off.

Shadow Lodge

*gasp*

Indeed. It's almost as if they actually read the forums and listen to what we have to say...

Blasphemy I say!

I'm 97% sure that blood crow strike was errata'd out of its Evil tag just so Mikaze's dreams of getting a Good equivalent could be gleefully crushed by James Jacobs.

Well, gosh, no wonder it's evil, with a name like Blood Cow Strike!

Who would want to punch a cow so hard that blood squirted out of it?

And then there's the cruel 'Horse Pees Itself Punch.'

WOOOO!

:D

Thanks for the heads-up, and thanks to whoever made the change! Super-good-aligned monks can throw hadokens around now!

Eh, I still really want holy options for monks(and barbarians, and the rest), but making the ability that represents an iconic supernatural martial art technique amongst mondern gamers available to good monks without evil-baggage is a big win for good monks as is!

Believe me, I know a lot about Kung Fu, and it has to be the Blood Cow Strike.

In the history of Kung Fu, there where several styles that were inspired by the powerful and... eeeeh... gracious movements of cow, but not a single style was inspired by crows.
Well except this strange monastery up in the mountains, they had a crow style. But one of the monks got on the wrong side of this Pai Mei guy, and since then there was absolutely no crow style. Ever. Again.

One of the devs did say a change was in the works. I don't know if UM has been errata'd or not, but it was supposed to in the next change.

I know I'm probably just repeatedly failing perception checks (wisdom was one of my dump stats), but I can't find that update anywhere. Can I get a link? :)

The UM errata was released Mar 30 and they updated the PRD.

03/30/2012 - Added errata content from the 2nd printing of Ultimate Magic and thread fixes.

Thanks Stynkk.

A lot of changes went through , including VoP (which gives ki every level now so... idk *shrug*) and Antagonize (which I haven't looked at yet but apparently still has the same issues).

Enjoy your Burning Crow of Dark Hadou!

Though it only dealing half damage to undead, fire immune or death warded targets will still be annoying.
