Monsters you use too much?

I don't know that I use anything too much but this is what I tend to use a lot of:

Humanoids
Goblins- My go to for hordes of faceless mooks; I modify them heavily from D&D and PF norms to be less funny and more terrifying
Orcs- I also deviate from the norm on these; these tend to fill the role that Hobgoblins typically fill ie vast militarized hordes.
Ogres- Generic big brute used to provide heavy support for Orcs and Gobbos.
Lizardmen- My absolute favorite way to have an ancient precursor race; I love having both advanced and primitive versions
Werewolves- Probably my favorite variant of the lycanthrope. The ability to blend into the community but still function as predator is really cool.

Undead
Zombies- although I normally go with a fast zombie instead of slow Zombie variant; great for building a sense of dread a low levels
Ghouls/Ghasts- Probably my favorite of the feral undead; More Lovecraftian in feel though
Vampires- Great for all sorts of bad guys; I generally don't use energy drain though
Ghost- Favorite of the incorporeal undead

Beasts (magical and otherwise)
Worgs- I generally don't like having the PCs need to kill standard Wolves, having intelligent wolf-like predators is better for me
Dire Rats- I love, love, love them; same with Rat Swarms
Intelligent Albino Apes- Yes I do love me some fallen civilizations hidden in jungles
Stirges- Really big mosquitos what's not to love?
Blink Dogs- More of an ally but I really like having them integrated into Sylvan communities
Displacer Beasts- Nasty Cat Creature with tentacles? Yes please

Vermin- Lots and all sizes but definitely tons of Giant Spiders, Giant Ants

Abberations
Mind Flayers - Definitely show up sooner or later

Fey
Nymphs and Dryads- Other forms of fey are less common

Plants-
Shambling Mounds- Vengeful Plant Spirits hunting people that dare enter their domain
Treants- Slow to anger but brutally powerful once you get them going

Outsiders
Imps- If you are an evil arcane caster guess what you generally have as a familiar
Succubus- Lust demons that can blend into society
Shadow Demons- Incredibly dangerous but make for good returning nemesis with rampant abuse of magic jar on NPCs
Elementals/Genies- These get a ton of usage
Angels- I generally integrate Archons and use these as divine allies

Is there a good Mind Flayer and/or Beholder conversion?

The way I understand it, there aren't ever going to be any illithids or beholders in any official Paizo products because WotC considers them "product identity." This site offers a full list of monsters that can't appear in the SRD.

However, I've seen a few fan conversions floating around the web. There's an illithid one that looks pretty good here. Beholder is a little harder to find, but there's a workable one (with suggestions below the original post) here.

Hope that helps!

I know they can't be officially converted. Which technically violates the OGL used by 3.0 as Illithids and Beholders are referenced in a OGL licensed book even though their stats aren't there they were still referenced which means they can be converted to PFRPG.

That said WoTC only owns that exact combination. Meaning: Paizo can make a creature exactly like the Beholder under a different name and then a monster named Beholder with different stats. Or a creature exactly like the Illithids but with a different name and use Illithids as the name for a new monster.

It is one of those Caveats in the Copyright Laws.

& yes those do help thank you!
