Hey All,

Experienced GM/player (20 years playing/GM'ing) here in the west sydney area (Holsworthy). Most of my GM experience is with old school 2nd ed. AD&D, Storyteller (D10), and Star Wars (D6), but I have a keen interest in Pathfinder and 4th Ed.

Available most weekends to run games, need 1-2 weeks notice for printed adventures, 3-4 for new creations :) Also available for skype games for disparate groups (have used maptools, but not proficient, so likely to be more RP)

I have a preference for running and playing sand-box style games, heavy on consequence and role-playing, giving players freedom to dictate their actions, but also to bite off more than they can chew.

Message me if anyone is keen for game or has an open party slot in the sydney area.

AussieGrimm

Is Holsworthy really part of Sydney? ;p

Didn't I say "Build it and they will come"?

Yeah lets organise a meet up for October and get all the regular groups together.

Reebo

Liberty's Edge RPG Superstar 2010 Top 16

Let me know a place / time and I be both there and square.

Hey there, folks. 18y-old first time GM here. I play in a group of me and three mates down St. George way...

Curious if there are any gamers nearby? Also wondering where people play. I've seen a few gaming stores in the inner city but they seem fairly dead. Meeting new players is tough. What's the gaming scene in Sydney like?

In terms of PFS, there are the following:

Unlimited Hobbies, first Saturday of the month

Blacktown North Primary School, second Saturday of the month

There is also another PFS games day which runs at 'Good Games' in Burwood, as well as at the store outside Central Station, on the last Saturday of the month (Al normally posts details for it in the thread under the first url).

There is also Syd Con coming-up in October.

I hope that that helps! :-)

Oooh Sydcon... haven't been to one of those in over 15 years... Also happens to be on a weekend I am not all booked up!might be time for a revisit! That said, I don't recognise any of the module designers, except the semi-legendary Tony Calder.

I was a name-player once, now I just sit at the pub and relive the old glory days :P

Nice one Shifty, Holsworthy only just counts I'd say ;)

Sydcon sounds great. Haven't been to a RP Con for years (used to go to ones run by Newcastle Uni RPG group)

It would be nice if Paizo finally incorporated a private messaging service on these boards to make this easier. Or we could all move to Enworld. ;-)

Twigs it seems most of the guys here are part of big groups already but there are a number of new guys that have recently jumped on looking for players - The Big L, Prime Evil and AussieGrim.

As Luke_Parry said there are a number of places that host games but what you really want (IMHO) is a good regular group, helps if your friends as well. Our core group has been together over 10 years. As much as I have enjoyed playing the occasional store game it's not as cool or as private as a regular D&D group game.

Gotta say I'm surprised that you young folk actually play, I thought it was just Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja for Gen Y. ;-)

P.S. Lets keep this thread at the top if we can, might help with getting more players.

Pubmeet! But... the Great Northern? *shudder* How about Bazaar in St Leonards? Oooooh yeeeeeaaaaaaaaaah.

And Reebo - you totally forgot to mention this on Saturday. Shame on you!

Ha, or the Crowie 'meat market' :p

Core groups are good, but some days I feel like mine cuts itself short as we have a group of five. 4 players + gm can have its downsides.

Nuts to the 'Crowie.' ^_^

Epoque? :)

The upside of the Great Northern is the possibility of lunch in the beer garden:

"Currently as part of our outstanding steak special, prime rump and sirloin are available Sunday to Thursday for only $11.90, including full salad bar!".

So I'd be tempted to suggest a noon meeting; the lunch trade wraps at 3...

I used to live next door to the Great Northern! Made for easy drinking and lunch.

All these Lower Nth Shore gamers, have to admit I'm surprised.

Cheers. Good Games in Central happens to be the only gaming store I know, so that works out rather well. :P

I'll have to check out SydCon, if I can rope anybody into it. I had no idea these cons made it further down than Brisbane.

We few, we nerdy few, manage to keep up the old traditions. We've actually been playing since we were 13, with a revolving door of people. Things've slowed down, lately and our home game feels a bit stagnant with the same 4 faces, so I'm looking for a way of recruiting.

Of course, I've got a group of friends ready to conscript, but waiting til I was a bit more confident in my abilities led into not one, but four of us heading overseas at different parts of the year... It's looking to fall apart before it even starts.

I'll have to follow up on this group at Good Games, find somebody we can conscript. Thanks for the help, fellas.

Sovereign Court

Heh. Well, since you mention it, there are four cons in Sydney alone:

Eyecon (Easter Long Weekend)
Winterfest (Second Weekend in July)
Sydcon (Second Weekend in October)
Macquarie Con (Second Weekend in December)

There are also a couple of Cons in Canberra, and at least three in Melbourne each year, so there are a few kicking around :-)

I agree that the beer garden at the Great Northern is nice when the weather is decent and the food is pretty good for pub fare.

Well Twigs if you're ever looking for a group of 5-7 players to DM for, drop me an email at reebo1@tpg.com.au

We'd love to have a new DM. Considering I've been DM for my group since 1988 I'm surprised they haven't gotten sick of me yet! ;-)

Hey guys, to those DMs in the Sydney area looking for a group can you please email me at reebo1@tpg.com.au

I'm wanting to get a regular group started with a set revolving DMs to give each other a break and chance to play. Maybe run Adventure Paths to soften the workload too. Of course if you just want to DM and write your own material that's perfectly fine as well.

If we can get talking via email we can sort something out a lot quicker than posting on these boards.

Naturally I'm looking for people who love Pathfinder, otherwise you wouldn't be on these boards right?

Hope to hear from some of you guys soon. I'll check back here regularly anyhow.

Ok looks like I've got a new group formed so we'll see how we go.

Thanks

Hey guys
Thought I'd better update this post as I've gotten a couple of emails recently looking for a group.

Currently our group is going well, playing the Jade Regent AP, about to start Night of Frozen Shadows. We playing regularly so we can't start/join another group and the table is kind of full at the moment so we can't take new players.

Feel free to email me if you want as I will hold onto any emails cause you never know when you need new players.

Happy gaming for 2012 everyone!
