The Fifth Pathfinder Chronicle

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

OK. What is this all about. I was just re-reading Eando Klines journal and came across this being mentioned.
"The Decemvirate had sealed certain secrets before. The site of the treasures of Ammelon VI, the contents of the Fifth Pathfinder Chronicle."

So what are these and why did the Decemvirate deem these best kept secret?

I promise not to tell anyone!

From Seekers of secrets via the wiki "The Decemvirate recalled this volume and destroyed all circulating copies shortly after its publication. It is rumored to have contained details on the events leading to the final disappearance of Durvin Gest.[6] The Repository of the Grand Lodge in Absalom holds the only known copy"

I'm not sure about the treasure, but the 5th Chronicle was sealed because the Decemvirate was really embarrassed that the word "Region" was misspelled, in really large letters, on the included map.

Alright kids. Sell me your soul -all tasty and yummy as it might be for a creature of such refined tastes as myself- and I'll tell you the mind-shattering secret of "Reigon".

Har har har.

In actuality Volume 5 of the Pathfinder Chronicles tells the tale of the last adventure of Durvin Gest, one of the founders of the Pathfinder Society. It's also a plot hook that was in the very first issue of the Pathfinder Adventure Path, and its full story will one day be told.

But there are other tales involving Durvin Gest that come first, including one that is about to hit the Pathfinder Tales fiction blog later this month.

The story, like the original adventure hook, was written by me.

Cool!

Where is this journal.

PS:I have seen Mr.Klines in two AP's, but I can't remember which 2. I know one was

Spoiler:
Serpent's Skull
. I don't remember the other one. I have not really read the one in the spoiler in detail so before I go looking it up is there real background information on him anywhere?

I ask because I normally have my own NPC that I use as a plot device to bring the party together, and or hand out quest. I have been using the 3.5 Factotum, but I am making a slow crossover to strictly Pathfinder so I may just use Mr.Kline.

I have read the Fifth Chronicle. There was the mildly amusing story about Gest's final disappearance (let's just say that you should scan every single word - nay, make that letter - for innuendo and double entendre when making pacts with succubi), but that's not why it was censored. The answer for that is three little words, all innocent by themselves, but very potent combined, and those who partake in the secrets of the Fifth Chronicle will never be the same after.

I hid the answer behind this curtain, so the faint of heart don't stumble on it and are undone:

Spoiler:
Gnomish Kama Sutra

The first three - but only the journals, he doesn't appear in the APs themselves.

My personal theory is that Durvin Gest used the Scepter of ages and the fountain of youth to become an immortal time traveler, and will one day return to Golarion with the knowledge of the multiverse collected in the final chronicle.

Durvin Gest confessed to killing Aroden. The act which cursed him to stand on an island looking into the Eye of Abendego, muttering like a mad man.
