Couple of gunslinger things

Gunslinger Discussion: Round 2

Okay, so i DM a game with a gunslinger in it and have noticed a possible issue with saves.

Most classes gt one strong save, the gunslinger though has 2 (ref, and fort) and wisdom is what controls grit, so normal the wis save is better than most classes too. Just an observation, where even my players have agreed.

And a mechanics question, is the gunslinger still considered an alternate class to fighter, and therefore can not take fighter levels, and can take fighter feats? or has this changed with the newest feats.

First of all, thanks to all of you who took part in

the first round of playtesting. Your feedback has been
invaluable in making sure that you’ll get the best
versions of the gunslinger, ninja, and samurai with the
release of Ultimate Combat. It was also instrumental in
the evolution of the gunslinger into a full class.

They are not longer a fighter variant, but a full class of their own. So yes, they can take fighter levels now.

And I would not worry about the saving throws. They are not the only class with multiple good saves. Bards, Clerics, Druids (and their animal companions), Monks (actualy have three good saves), Paladins, Rangers, Alchemist, and Inquisitors. That is 8 out of 17 base classes that have more that one good save. Add the Gunslinger to the mix and that is 9 out of 18 that have more than one good save. One half of classes does not equal "most".

Thank you for the Full class thing.

as for saves, it was meant to show that the GS has the bas ref and fort, then an essential stat is wis, giving them three good saves (which was my point).

Ive had several fighters that had decent wisdom before, not to mention rangers, so a ranger with a good wis is, basically on the same footing as a gunslinger, save wise.
