Golarion map with out the titles would be a good thing

Website Feedback

As much as I appreciate you guys making the Golarion map available as a JPEG. I have a little problem with it. The map has the names of all the locations on it ,but my players know nothing about those places yet.I don't want to give out that much info on the world right now.

It would be great if there was a map that did not have the titles or lines on it so I could let them have free reign with it. That way I can give them the names of things as they encounter them. They get distracted way too easy.

Just thought that might be a good suggestion. I am currently trying to modify the map that you have provided for just this purpose. Its probably going to take a while.

you do know the jpg file can be edited via an editing program or converted to something else for editing..

While the Golarion map provided in the Community Use Package is a flattened image (meaning the text and image cannot be separated), the map available as part of the Inner Sea World Guide PDF and the one available in the Inner Sea Map Folio PDF are both layered, so the background image may be extracted without the tags.

(Depending on how your Adobe Reader is set up, it may require you to ctrl-click (Windows) or option-click (OS X) to select the background.)

And they are both wonderful! :)

Vic - does use of the CUP map require the titles already in place in the provided PNG file, or could the owner of a copy of the Inner Sea World Guide extract the image-only content from the PDF of that same map and use it under the auspices of the CUP?

Edit - N/M, saw this:

No chance of a basic flat Inner Sea map sans top banner and place labels making it into the CUP? Thinking about throwing together a Google Maps API version of the map, but with the labels already on it'll get pretty ugly when you zoom in.

"Players, this is what you see, wrapped around a good portion of a titanic sphere covering most of your field of vision. It's pretty cold, and the air's awfully thin, but you notice the sphere appears to be very rapidly growing, and the side of you facing the sphere is getting awfully warm."

Thanks for the tips folks, I was hoping there was a PDF version available so I could remove the text as a layer. I will just grab it from the inner sea map folio. That will save me a ton of effort.

Unfortunately it appears both of the PDF's suggested by Vic Wertz were not layered or at least they are secured with a password so that I cannnot modify them. Any chance of getting the password?

Works fine for me with ctrl + selecting the image, then ctrl + c.

What version of Adobe do you have? Version 9 does not allow it, you can only do it in 8 and 10.

Of course, 9 is the one I have but I'll give it another try. Thanks for the feedback.
