Wren the FeatherMage |
Wren the Feathermage gets more feathery:
+6 hp (4 wiz, +1 con, +1 fc)
Wiz Bonus feat: Extend Spell
New Spells: Tongues, Fly
7 skill points:
+3 Fly
+1 Arcana, Nature, Planes
+1 Spellcraft
5th lvl Feat: Fast Study
Wren coos as she prepares her spells, quickly completing the task so she can spend more time talking with (aka 'talking at') her good friends.
EDIT: Wren's alias is updated.
Wren the FeatherMage |
Just updating Wren's gold:
From a February post when we got to town:
Wren's Updated Gold:
449.2 gp (Post Undead Lecture, not including monies from completion of courier mission)
+803.91gp OOC #277
-6 gp travel purchases
+500 gp (from judge, deliver book, IC #283)
=====
1747.11 gp
Then from this post: "-375 gp + -125 gp = -500 gp group funds."
So, Wren should easily be able to chip in for Kevin's Restoration.
The other costs to Wren are inn expenses and travel expenses to and fro.

Galadan - sorry - but this is a little bit like a PFS scenario. Having others deal with the problem isn't an option. Well - partly it is - you reduced the numbers thanks to your handling of the Crooked Kin.
You have more than enough time to prepare. The more important part is - how do you want to deal with a mob.
The Crooked Kin member will stay to answer questions - but he will disappear before the mob arrives - having done 'his job'.
A lot of actions from you leading up to now have already an affect on this.
Galadan Teresthin |
Sorry, didn't see this new post.
I wasn't trying to push the problem off on the Crooked Kin. But I was attempting to gauge the seriousness of the problem by having them investigate that for us while we were elsewhere, gathering evidence.
I had hoped that an open performance from the Kin might have been a distraction for the less hard-core of the mobsters. :)

Alright, to make things easier for everyone:
Including the reward from the Judge, we *EACH* have 4026.52 gp to spend.
Have fun shopping :-)
EDIT:
That includes the cost of the Wand of CLW (for Galadan), the Restoration (for Kevin), and the two scrolls (Daylight and Darkvision) for Wren.
Wren the FeatherMage |
Yay!
I'll review our loot sheet as well. We made some purchases during the process of the last few days (daylights, darkvisions, restorations) and we should make sure those are upkept.
I'll have a shopping list for Wren later tonight. Hard to do as I just begun my work day.
Wren the FeatherMage |
Treasure Link. You'll want page 2.
Mr. Aldous, thanks for doing this. I appreciate it.
Who has taken (or was it sold):
the Oil of Keen Edge?
the +1 Shapechanger Dagger?
the Admantine weapon blanche?
The scroll of darkvision and daylight have been used. However, unless someone has access to it (Wren doesn't), I suggest we pool $$ together for a potion/oil of daylight.
750/5=150 gp each for an group Oil of Daylight.
Is there any other mutual/party stuff to get?
Might I suggest some ghostbane blanches?
Anyhoot, I'm happy to put some $$ aside for group stuff.

Galadan Teresthin |
My apologies everyone. Lost internet connection during a week-long employment shuffle. But I am back now. Let me catch up on what we're doing before we finish doing it. :)
No need to take the money for Galadan's wand out of the group funds, he payed for it himself. (I've been tracking his money on his profile.)
Wren the FeatherMage |
I'm glad your back, Galadan.
I, for one, would love to see a bit more intensity and desire out of our group. It seems we've lost a lot of momentum and I wish to regain some of it.
What's going on with peeps?
Galadan Teresthin |
Hmmm.... I've been having work issues... I'm taking a class at night too, and having all sorts of life issues... but for the most part I'm still here. Galadan isn't exactly laid back, but he was willing to let the court take control in the situation. He feels strongly about finding the wights in the village (and any other undead that may still be out there), but realizes there is more afoot.
Am curious about the 4000~ amount that Aldous listed. Does that include most everything we've obtained since the reward for delivery? Or is that the total of everything so far (including sold items)? I'm a little lost on what amount to add to my personal track.
Aldous Preklikin |
If Galadan purchased the Wand using his own funds, that means that each of us gains:
4176.52gp
That amount includes the 1000gp reward for helping Stitches that the Judge gave us, and the sale of everything that we have acquired since leaving Ravengro - this is the first time we have had a chance to sell anything since the start of the second book :-/
It does *not* include the 1000gp 'bequest' (less whatever you spent in Ravengro) that the Professor willed to each of us in the first book.
So, in Galadan's case (based on what I can see from your profile), he gains the full 4176.52gp.
I hope that that helps!
:-)

I, too, have felt the drag and I believe it comes from a combination of factors:
- Our uncertainty about what we needed to do. Sometimes, I admit, I have felt a bit lost in our tasks.
- The storyline/plot: in retrospect it makes sense, but at the time was time pushy and I felt like Wren never had a chance to 'recover/review/role-play' as we went. In an AP, players need downtime to interact and reconnect as things progress.
- And the biggie: slow and inconsisten posting by 3 of 6 of our players. Now I know that Andrea has a slow posting schedule (and I'm fine with that), but we still need to check and post daily. For me, I want to check/post twice a day. The problem with aloof us posting so infrequently is that we begin to lose cohesion. When not everyone is involved we lose momentum.
- We players are playing poorly. We're not doing a good job of leaving RP hooks and openings for each others. And we're not making good on the opportunities we have. We need to return to more direct conversation with each other.
Solutions? Meh. I'd like to hear from others.
What do you all think?
Thod |
Wren, all
I think the main person to drive a PBP game is the GM. The players play a huge part - but ultimately they often can't go on until the GM has posted.
The other way round - well - worst case the GM just makes a few rolls until a player is back.
I'm now running this AP for > 1 1/2 years. I did 2 PFS scenarios in the meantime as well as GM - the second one just finished. And what I realized is - with the PFS scenario finished I will just take a break.
With the AP it seems there hasn't been a true break to recharge. There have been times I was too busy real life that I lapsed - but I always had the bit in my head - get back - players are waiting.
I did contemplate at some stage if I should just step back. But I felt I just can't do this for this group that is together from the start.
I do check daily - often more than once. But a lot is on the phone - so I can only post if I'm truly prepared. Maps - well - they slow me down because I haven't prepared them in advance.
At the same time when I GMed Cyphermage Dilemma and had an avid group I noticed the old feel of a well running faster paced game again - but felt guilty I couldn't find myself doing the same here.
Maybe it works if I set myself certain tasks. Get the group from where we are until X - do this in a faster paced manner - and then take a 2 week break not posting at all. Just recuperate, prepare - and get back.
I would love to say I just try to get back to where I started. I did check in bed after waking if there was a new post - and I checked last moment before going to bed.
Now I sometimes dread if there are too many messages and skip a day when there isn't much at all. And this you notice in the way I run the adventure right now.

This is where I think we have failed you, Thod. I don't think we've been good enough players, as a group, to give you energy and inspiration to continue.
I believe not having several players active and involved has put more pressure on you...and that isn't fair.
We all need to pick up and do better.
I want this AP to continue. I like playing Wren, I like thinking about how Wren will respond to things and how she does things. It's interesting to put myself into someone so different than myself...
I'm happy to continue and keep rocking.
In addition, I'm happy to recruit other players (I know strong players who would love to jump in, if necessary) that would bring energy to this AP.
Whatever works.

Mystery solved? From another Thod campaign:
I'm off on holiday until Friday night. I will likely not read anything until then
I think he's just gone for a bit.

All
Sorry - I should have posted here that I would be away for the weekend. It was hectic to get everything sorted last minute - and I admit I got sidetracked in some heated general discussions on the PFS boards.
The posting in the next days will be slow. We had a car accident on the way to Crispy Con. Luckily nobody hurt and we still made it with a few hours delay and missing the social at the evening before.
But the car is a likely write-off and I will have to get a few bits sorted out quickly now. Like a replacement and financing.
Having my own business and most money invested there complicates it. I need to check out if the new car should be a company car or not.
Thod |
Sorry to hear about the accident Jens..I guess that's going to make it difficult for you to make Dragonmeet then.
Something like this doesn't stop me. There is still a second car in the family. My wife just has to walk that day ...
Joking aside - I'm the organiser and it would be bad if I'm not showing up. Are you coming down as well?Thod |
Yes I'll definitely be there..after having to cancel Games Expo and making a total ****-up off Paizocon UK I need my PFS fix for this year
Do you have a high level character for Drowning Stones (tier 7-11) and have you played Cyphermage Dilemma?
A lot of the other scenarios are older ones. Well - we still have Goblin Guild (4-1). But apart of encounter at the drowning stones it will be tier 1-5.
