I have been reading several shield bash threads with great interest. I have a question in relation to the Rodelero Duelist archetype from the Inner Sea Primer.
In this instance can you enchant a buckler with the Bashing enchant?
The PRD says:
Only light and heavy shields can have this ability.
The Rondelero says:
Buckler Bash (Ex) At 2nd level, a rondelero can perform a shield bash with a buckler (use the same damage and critical modifier as for a light shield).

So I guess I should ask... are you a GM thinking about this, a player who wants it as an options, or in organized play?
Because in the first case I would say it's perfectly reasonable, perhaps put a restriction on it that says it only works if you can normally bash with the shield. In the second place I would say work with your GM, most would let it fly. In the third case, no.

I am mostly a GM but this is an archetype I'm very interested in playing. To be honest I don't really get to play at all, but I do like making characters.
Can I ask why it wouldn't fly in organised play? The newer rule isn't specific enough?
In home play you can ignore a rule because you understand the repercussions of what that rule are. In organized play GMs tend to stick much tighter to the rules without creative interpretation.
If you are a player you may find you have a different GM from one week to the next and one GM won't be as tolerant as another.
I tried looking up Spiked Shield, but even that description refers to Light and Heavy shields, not Bucklers.
Even the exotic weapon "Madu" is a Light shield. I can find no precedent of a Buckler being used as a weapon.
Without RAW backup, you can't expect to use an enchanted bashing Buckler in organized play.
For home use, sure. If the GM allows it.

Apologies if I've misunderstood you, Xraal, but the precedent lies in the class ability of the Rondelero:
"Buckler Bash (Ex) At 2nd level, a rondelero can perform a shield bash with a buckler (use the same damage and critical modifier as for a light shield)."
The question was really can a buckler wielded by a Rondelero take advantage of the Bashing enchant as they are able to use a buckler for a shield bash.
A buckler wielded by any other class or archetype cannot take advantage because they cannot use a buckler for the purpose of a shield bash and the description specifically excludes bucklers.
By RAW, while a rondelero can bash with a buckler, it doesn't say that they can enchant bucklers with the bashing ability. Since bashing excludes bucklers, and rondelero does not include them, they cannot get bashing bucklers per RAW/organized play. (My opinion).
Is it broken to let them? No. In a home game, I'd probably let them.

I would allow it in an instant.
Bucklers are not included in the Bashing special ability, because they can't generally be used for bashing, and it would create opportunity for misunderstanding if they were listed there.
