Isn't the time for this thread *before* the book goes to the printers?

The first post was March 9th of this year and Ultimate Combat isn't due out till at least August. Seem like plenty of time, especially since I believe we still have more play-testing to do.

I would like to see a bladed shield that could double as a weapon and still protect you would be perfect for those shield bashers

Yes! Something like this: (hope this works, don't know if I can post links)

I have a lantern shield wielding Cavalier. The way I treat it is this: exotic weapon proficiency, light steel shield, sword breaker gauntlet (instead of sword breaker dagger), plus short sword, plus +2 to bluff checks to feint in combat.

Dude, I read somewhere a couple of weeks ago that the book was already at the printer. No more playtest -- we get what we get at GenCon.

Like this?

Or this?

Grand Lodge

A giant throwing star, much like the weapon used by Kaede Nagase of Negima!

Perhaps, but even if this were true, and I don't personally know one way or another, this thread was created in early March. I do not think UC went to the printer that early, but maybe.

Anyways, if ya can find a Staff quote to prove otherwise, cool. Beyond that, this thread is harmless.

I had mentioned this before in another thread, but I really want to see the stats for a Flying Guillotine, or "Blood Dripper" as they call it in China...

I've never seen this stated in an RPG before. (But if it has been, please let me know.)

Deadlands rpg had stats for it in a Ku-fu supplement, but that is not really helpful. I would like to see it as well.

Erik Mona's facebook fanpage[/url]]Ultimate Combat is in final PDF approvals, and will head to the printer within about an hour! WOOT! So proud of my team on this one. Lots of awesome stuff in there. Oh, and I can play video games and do something other than editing in my free time, which is a bit of a bonus.

Not to say the thread is harmful or should be put down or anything like that. Just saying, Mike Dowd and The Forgotten have the right of it, the UC ship has sailed (and had sailed before the thread got necro'd on Friday, after having been inactive for two weeks).

But definitely feel free to keep the conversation going. UC isn't the last book Paizo will ever write.

I'm looking for a Jovar (Planar Handbook) in PFRPG, 2d6 slashing two-hander with 18-20/x2? Yes please!

Neither is the Planar Handbook Open Content, nor is this weapon worth a feat. Just use a falchion.

I would love to see a Parthian (Parting Shot) Rapier. It was in the 3.0 Ravenloft book, basically it's a special exotic weapon rapier with a pistol in the handle, and when you make a successful attack, you can fire the pistol at the same target as a free action, and they lose their Dex bonus to AC vs. the attack.

Rogues would love that so much, there's no rogue that wouldn't take the ancestral weapon trait (or w/e it's called) for that.

Generally speaking you are IMO right, but in this case the increase is a +2 in average and a +4 on maximum damage. And the 2d6 is nice for vital strike (assuming someone wants it) and enlargements.

overall, is not as bad as improving from a d4 to a d6.

More Simple weapons = NO I AM NOT SPENDING A FEAT for an Exotic weapon !!

Small rocks for throw range weapons
Large rocks for bashing creatures with.

Those are already in. They're called "Improvised weapons". :P

So don't call it a Jovar. You can still be within Open Content guidelines and have a 2 handed weapon deal 2d6 slashing damage as a medium weapon with a crit range of a scimitar, and have it require an EWP to wield, right?

New picture, name, and background.

I would like to see:
- more polearms, both historical and fictional
- exotic versions of simple or martial weapons, like the flail, kukri, lance, bow, scythe and quarterstaff
- fictional siege weapons, we know that the ballista, mangonel, bombard and siege tower might be in the book, but what about the other cultures ? What would the dwarves come up with in sieges underground or elves in dense forests ?
- grafts, because amputation is a casulty in combat, so it would be nice to have a nice alternative to missing limbs, as well as a reason to keep the artifical limb instead of discarding it with regenerate. You know, have the characters grow attached to the limb (pun totally intended).
- cultural weapon looks, a human longsword could be different from an elven longsword and a dwarven longsword by the look of the blade and hilt.

Aside from weaponry, I would gladly like to see siege rules and mass combat. Let's say you want, as a DM, to pit the PCs into a siege, like defending a castle, you need special rules to move and attack multiple units... unless you want your PCs to go "LEEROY JENKINS" or "TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL" on your armies.
