Any chance of getting this AP in Tian Xia? I'd really like to see Pirates vs... Samurai :)
She just wants to be SPANCked.

I'd like to see one set at sea. Pirates, a ship commanded by a necromancer, a circle of druids trying to keep the peace and protect precious resources from brutal exploitation by Cheliax fishing fleets and Andorian privateers dead set on freeing slaves by smuggling them out by sea.
or maybe something in Osirion. ancient tombs, terrible sanity shattering secrets time lost and buried by the sand woken by greedy tomb raiders. A celestial key, a calendar map and an undead mummy driven to stop an ancient evil from rising again, recruiting the players to wage a war that everyone else thought ended 3000 years ago.
how about a city set in the sky? weird magic that blends arcane science with reality bending powers not fully understood. A degenerate population that's been trapped on a city in the sky while elemental forces strain to be released from pacts made with rulers long dead. the players race to learn the secrets of the flying city before their enemies seize those powers for themselves and plunge the earthbound nations into a war.
just a few random thoughts on the subject while I avoid going back to work on cleaning my house.

xorial wrote:What about my pirates vs vikings, both sides manipulated by ninjas idea?Clearly we need to integrate some dinosaurs here.
While Ninjas riding Dinosaurs has been mentioned really we need a dynamic where the dinos are the resource at the center of the conflict so everyone has them. Viking Longships sailing in to hunt dinos for mounts and other uses (meat/leather/etc) and coming into conflict with Pirates who are trading from the Dreaded Isle and the conflict is antagonized by a stealthy clan of ninjas who want the dinos for a war with a clan of samurais who are their immortal enemies. To tip the scale the ninjas have been playing the pirates to get rid of the vikings but have also recently hired a platoon of gunslingers to battle the construct (warforged*) warriors the Samurai have unleashed upon them, when The Gorilla King swoops in to start ganking EVERYONE!
I swear Ive been threatening this as a campaign forever on my players, but I havent followed through because it could never be as Epic as I see it in my head....
* I mean Come on Dinosaurs VS Vikings VS Pirates VS Ninjas VS Samurai VS Gunslingers VS Robots VS Ape Men? Who the heck needs dragons when you have all that?@?!?!

Southern Garund - Dino-riding ´Amazons´, ancient Cyclops empires, yup, how can this NOT happen? Nex plays a part as well, along with elements from Mwangi Expanse/Sargava area.
Molthune/SW Encarthan - This is likely the big war one... ´Interests´ of Cheliax involved, but nothing direct which would over-play the ´Cheliax at war´ impulses which exist amongst the fans. Hopefully Dwarves play a big part, not to mention those Kalistrade freaks in Druma.
Casmaron - Probably not happening soon, but it would float my boat. Whether Conan-esque miserable hinterland, or internal politics of Kelesh spilling over into power-grabs also contending with the isolationist Tian-splinters and wierdo Yak-men of the mountains (OK, I mostly made that up), this is what to expect when Paizo wants re-define awesome all over again. :-)

Why can't we have some good old fashioned dungeon crawling? You guys don't need to reinvent the wheel with every adventure path, or try some thing new every time. You are neglecting a whole chunk of your customer base by not doing enough low role play dungeon crawling stuff.
I like dungeon crawls, but I definitely am not a fan of "low role-play". An AP could get stale real quick without a compelling reason to delve into dangerous dank locations.

YES.
Especially if it's more focused within the cultures of the Mwangi/Garundi natives. Serpent's Skull just didn't come through all the way in that area, personally.
Doubleplus if it specifically involves Holomog or Dehrukani in any way. Mwangi/Azata nation FTW.
Would love to see Nantambu get some play as well, but that's quite a ways further north....

I'd LOVE to see a Lastwall campaign. Could touch on the "total war" aspects with a variety of orc and undead mooks.
While at a glance, it looks like it'd be pretty static (beating back hordes of orcs and zombies from one hold) with the scope that an adventure path brings it could culminate in a three pronged assault on Belkzen.
A Dwarven push through the Darklands, the few Lastwall crusaders... and possibly the elves of Kyonin with their elf gates. Each could merit its own adventure to the Five Kings Mountains and Kyonin to secure aid, and then a final push to reclaim Belkzen. It would be fantastic.
A pirate campaign could also be great. With the trade routes outlined in the World Guide, the importance of trade in the inner sea and squabbling nations (Andoran's anti-slave agenda and Cheliax's growing naval surpremacy spring to mind) a group of privateers would have a lot to do before being sidetracked on an epic pirate adventure hitting all the right cliches.
I'd eagerly lap up an irrisen/linnorm campaign too... at least... even more eagerly than the rest of the line.

The colonization of Arcadia begins!I would like to see a "Maztica"/Conquistador style AP, something where the first book would be preparing and making the journey across the sea. They would have to deal with pirates and other types of sea hazards and this would be after the party was "commissioned" to perform the first part of the mission and making the arrangements for the trip such as funding and employing the proper shipwrights etc etc. Then subsequent books would be how certain Nations follow behind the party and exploit the new found lands.
So this would envelope a lot of what different people would enjoy and in a sandbox style adventure.
Yay! Skull and Bones, the AP after Jade is pirate based!
My original post was back in march asking for something like this :)

chopswil wrote:Maybe some Oriental styled pirates along with the western/Caribbean ones?Since the AP we're doing right before this one is the Jade Regent AP, we'll likely be a bit burnt-out on Asian-style pirates. We'll see, though...
Actually, an AP using some of the material from the Asian Soursebook might be a good idea. :)

- more court politics/intrigues
- underwater based AP would be cool, too
- less dark themes. I love dark, but it's to the point of overdoing it
- something involving dragons
- something involving time travel
- if dungeons, include TRAPS
- something about the other rune lords
- pirates vs ninjas!
- a mystery where nothing is really as it seems
- a group of initially evil PCs in need to rescue the world. Possible alignment change included
In no specific order.

I don't know that I'd want to play a 20 (or even 10) level megadungeon, but I would welcome an AP that had a very sizable dungeon, perhaps along the size of Monte Cook's Banewarrens (6th-10th level). It should include interaction with the surrounding world and have a plot, not just a dungeon crawl.
spacemonkeyDM |
Things I would like:
Sword and planet style adventure, barbarians against robots or something.
Linnorm kings cause that such a cool setting, plus vikings rock
Arctic based adventure maybe like at the mountains of madness by lovecraft.
Plane hopping or planet hopping. I really loved Planescape back in 2e and just love a campaign that can change environments so drastically.
One based around war. A big bloody horrible sad war.
No dungeon crawl one please. Yuck.

Now that all of the fairly reasonable requests have been made, let's see how silly this thread can get. You know, the really strange ones.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Bugbears
Skull & Bones: The Musical (aka Pirates of Penzance)
The Muppets Take Absalom
Rise of the Runelords 2: Electric Boogaloo
Young Cavaliers in Love
Iron Chef Goblinoid
Survivor: Mawangi Expanse (that might actually be good, lol)
Almost forgot:

I'd like to see one that ends up on one or more of the elemental planes. There could be some cool adventure, especially on ones that aren't so inherently hostile (like air), but even earth and water aren't too bad at higher levels.
Plus, I'd like to see an adventure path where the choices are just a little more open ended - one where perhaps part 3 or part 4 could vary greatly, affecting what happens in parts 5 and 6. The big problem with this, of course, is that there might end up being a bunch of material not used - the challenge is to figure out a way to use the same material in different ways depending on the outcome of the previous games.
Also, I'd like to see an adventure path where the party really truly takes the high ground. We've seen many where there's a lot of gritty gray areas, which is fine, but how about one that is designed around the really good characters like paladins, good clerics, etc?
We've had a fair number that make it a real challenge to play paladins or other strongly good characters; how about one that makes it a real challenge to play shady characters?
Finally, how about an adventure path that pushes the envelope a bit more and goes up to 18th or even 19th level? I know advancement is typically based on 'encounters,' but having more story and plot based XP awards could fill the gap for those who don't use a more structured approach to XP.

The goblin campaign. All players must start off as 1st level goblins.
EDIT: I just searched this whole thread. I can't believe I am the first person to suggest an all goblin campaign.
It's because all campaigns can be all goblin campaigns!!

APs I'd really like to see:
1) Kaer Maga - urban / dungeonesque / investigation / faction... so much material!
2) Irrisen / Linnorm - could be based on an alliance system to fight Baba Yaga as she returns.
3) Geb / Nex innovative AP where PCs are sentient undeads bound to Arazni's will and have to find out about Nex's fate so that Geb may rest... but their fate ends up being completely different!
4) Worldwound / Crusade
5) Taldorian intrigues / succession war
6) Planar adventures

5) An arcane-themed AP. The players are all tied to or employed by a wizard's guild. Not so much a everyone-is-a-caster but more a "AP focused on the intrigues or an event at the guild" type. Let players be deeply tied or integrated to it if/when it makes sense. More "the fate of Hogwarts" than "PCs are Potter-types".
+1 Awesome! An AP with scrolls, rods and wands all over the place but very rare on +1 hand axes, etc would be interesting.
My wish list
1) Time travel AP Heroes end up going back in time to fix their own mistakes (that they haven't made yet).
2) Something with lots and lots of Aboleths and abominations, delving into the deep history of humanity.
3) Another "King Maker" type scenario where you are building a country. With updated rules, in another part of the world. Or heck, the same part of the world, the same scenario even with different NPCs, encounters, politics, plot... etc.
4) Exploring ruins of space hulks with a dash of Numarian super tech...
5) Trying to avert a reawakening of the war between Galt and Nex
6) An AP where (at the end) you follow someone into the test of the Starstone in an attempt to prevent them from becoming a Deity.

Hear is one I am looking for: How about an AP were the heroes didn't win? Maybe you were the henchman or the a family member of the failed hero who didn't stop the worldwound from opening or the Whispering Tyrant from becoming a lich. Now you must go on epic quest to now collect parts of the mystic things that their blood has to bind it together.

Still would really like an AP set in or around or about Thuvia. To me its one of the more interesting countries that i have seen very little material on.
Also would like to see an AP set in the past, like around the time that Aroden originally took down Tar-Baphon. I understand Paizo wants to stay mysterious about what actually happened to Aroden, but i think an AP like this could be done without ruining the mystery, and i for one would like more information on what took place during the first take down of the whispering tyrant.
I for one will probably pass on the Skull and Bones AP. Not too interested in pirates myself, so hopefully i will get my wish and the AP after that will be in Thuvia, or the past ... or both!

They're heading back to Varisia after "Skull and Shackles" with Shattered Star. You'll be hunting for pieces of a Thassilonian artifact (Sihedron Rune).
It should fit into your learning more about the past, though Thuvia's out. Maybe after! ;)
