I was reviewing the Combat Maneuver rules, and I stumbled on this:
A creature can also add any circumstance, deflection, dodge, insight, luck, morale, profane, and sacred bonuses to AC to its CMD. Any penalties to a creature's AC also apply to its CMD. A flat-footed creature does not add its Dexterity bonus to its CMD.
I'm pretty sure I know what this means, but I want to confirm:
Does this mean that Barbarians in Rage suffer a -2 to their CMD? (which is negated by the +4 str boost, so net zero?)
Does this mean that the Dodge feat also applies to CMD?
Does this mean that a Ring of Protection also applies to CMD?
Finally, is any of this a surprise to anyone besides myself?
EDIT: related question: besides Base Attack Bonus, Strength (or dex with Agile Maneuvers), the various Improved and Greater maneuver feats, and Monk Maneuver training, is there anything a character can use to raise the Combat Maneuver Bonus?

To answer your questions, yes, yes, yes, and not a surprise to me.
The same sort of deal also applies to CMB rolls.
Add any bonuses you currently have on attack rolls due to spells, feats, and other effects. These bonuses must be applicable to the weapon or attack used to perform the maneuver.
CMB/CMD is not quite the super-streamlined and simplified system as it first appeared by comparison to 3.5, but at least they did get rid of the opposed roll.

So Weapon Focus (and a weapon's Enhancement bonus) also apply to CMB, if the weapon is used as a part of the maneuver, such as Disarm, Trip, etc, but not Bull Rush or Overrun?
If that's the case, when does Weapon Focus (unarmed) apply?
What about effects like Flanking, Bless, and Bard Song? Do they apply to all uses of CMB?
By RAW, can a character take Weapon Focus (CMB)?
If not, would letting a character do so be a reasonable house rule?

Isnt the -2 penalty on ac for barbarian a nameless penalty ? If so it is specifically not mentioned in the listing.
Though I think it is supposed to include just about everything that adds or subtracts from your touch AC.
Dodge feat = dodge
Ring of Protection = deflection
Not surprise as such, I have some reservations about this, especially since apparently it makes using acrobatics to pass through a square more dificult.

the barbarian ac penalty doesn't get mentioned bevause any penaltybto ac affects it.
though I'n the case of the barbarian this never occurred to me.
my monk has + 23 cmb to trip I believe. 9 BaB 4 str 4 trip weapon 2 enhancement 1 weapon focus 1 heirloom temple sword.
You are right, it actually says any penalty affects it. Always assumed it did anyway.
