Pea Bear never really got into MLP (despite her love for and desire to be a horse) so I've never actually seen it, ever.I turned it on just to see what the big deal was, and it was decent enough for me to continue with. I will admit, "watching" it mainly meant having it on in the background while I did other things, so I wasn't paying the closest of attention, but I think I got the gist of it.
I hardly think you can get the gist of a cartoon without paying close attention to it.

Actually, in this case Cap oblivious is right. If you did the same thing with the other great cartoons (Gravity Falls, Avatar:the Last Airbender, Legend of Korra) to come out recently, you'd miss allot of the humor, or the important stuff in the background THAT DOES get referenced later.

Yes, i heard from a brony that comes into work that it was an incredibly accurate depiction. :-)
They've also nailed drone enthusiasts pretty realistically. :-)
For the record, all the MLP fans that come into work are super delightful and cheerful. :-)

For those that know comic books, is Cable a bad guy in Deadpool or is it more complicated then that.
From what I recall, Cable fights against the emergence of a dark, post-apocalyptic future where the Sentinels have exterminated all the mutants and most of Humanity. So, yes, probably a good guy.
You are correct, John. Cable is a grimdark (well, you know, for Marvel) super-hero, emphasis on the hero.
That said, I know some of the people at Marvel wanted to put marriages* er, I mean, Cable through the wringer, and did weird things to his powers and mind for a while, plus this is Deadpool, so it's probably "more complicated than that."

Just for expectations management department, Sara's said that they had such a mind-blowingly large volume of shipping, they aren't necessarily going to get everything out in as timely a manner as they'd like. Basically, their warehouse is super-overwhelmed. XD

So to me, "PDF available August 17" means, "PDF available August 17".
That means that:
(a) I would be extremely surprised if someone was able to download a non-pirated version of the PDF before then, and
(b) The warehouse is going to try to set up shipping so that most hard copies arrive on either the 16th or the 17th
So I love seeing all the anticipation (just because I have no interest in a game doesn't mean I don't appreciate watching the enthusiasm of those who do), but I'll be remarkably surprised if anyone gets anything Starfinder before next Wednesday.

The good and the bad of preparing for a backpack trip with the kids:
(1) It's excellent bonding. On Sunday we walked 2 miles with no packs. On Monday we walked around 1.2 miles with 10-pound packs. Yesterday we walked 2 miles with 20-pound packs. Yesterday Impus Minor suggested "one-word stories" where each person in turn has to add a word to the story, and the time positively flew by. On Monday with 10-pound packs, he couldn't do the whole loop. On Tuesday with double the weight but stories, he had no issues until his fall.
Best sentence according to the voters: "Attila, who rubbed vitamins on himself aggressively, bellydanced sensuously."
(2) It can lead to pre-trip injuries. Impus Minor didn't notice the staircase at the end of the walk and went face-first down the concrete staircase with a 20-pound pack on his back. Fortunately, I had just shown him through example that morning how to slap the ground rather than locking your arms, so he escaped with nothing more than two badly-scraped knees.
Hoping to get in a 20/20/30 pound walk today (20 for the kids, 30 for me), but time is tight (Impus Minor has a haircut appointment) and Impus Minor may ask to rest his knees for a day.

The way I see it is, they'll have shipping wrapped up by the 18th, so either way I'll have Starfinder for my birthday. :-)

Coincidentally, I'm getting the kids used to walking to school again* by walking to school, which is a mile away, mostly uphill, across some train tracks (Or under it but the tunnel adds an extra 5-10 minutes and bypasses the woods) and through the turkey woods (lots of wild turkeys in the turkey woods).
* Pea Bear's school is two and a half blocks away so it's mostly for Tiny T-Rex's benefit.

So I hadn't been canoeing in thirty years.
And my sister had been going on and on and on about the canoe she bought this spring, and how she'd researched it and had found this amazing deal.
And I thought, "What gives? It's a canoe. It's made of aluminum. You paddle it. Big deal."
Well, apparently the big deal is that canoes have changed a LOT in thirty years.
No aluminum. (No burning metal on bare skin!)
Contoured seats with adjustable backrests. (This was the win; I am NOT IN PAIN TODAY, and by all rights I should be.)
We took the kids and paddled the entire circumference of Fish Lake, all the way down to the dam and back. (It was only about six miles, so not too bad... it only took us a couple of hours.) Grandma and Auntie stayed on their lounge chairs on the beach. Then we got ice cream.
We're going again next Tuesday.
THIS is what vacation feels like.

Legend of Korra was only supposed to be 1 season long, but was later forced to go on for an additional three seasons by Cartoon Network attempting to milk the series from the success of the The Last Airbender.
Which explains everything.
