Nothing says summer like sitting out on the balcony with a nice iced coffee. :)

Today is a high of 72 with a nice cooling breeze. I love it. I wouldn't even hate summer if it was always like this.

Note to self: Put leash on dog before opening the door, not after. Especially if you kept him waiting while you looked for your keys.

It is not-quite the hottest hour of the day here, and it is 42C (107F), with a breeze whispering directly from the gates of hell.

Sooo jealous.

70, sunny, with enough breeze to make it feel like 69.

The perfect weather.

Maybe somewhere she is dreaming of you.

Hmmm, this could also mean you are in a sense8 cluster (spoilers) with her.

hooray for training in a call center, at least it's in bound calls only but i still need to up-sell people and talk them out of their hard earned money just to be entertained and stay in touch with people.

I think I dreamed about plumbing supplies last night.

I hope that doesn't mean anything.

I would pay good money for Farmer Amby's Tomato Sauce, Farmer Amby's Tomato Paste, Farmer Amby's Marinara Sauce, and Farmer Amby's Totally Radical Pizza Sauce Dood!!!, but only if there is a picture of Amby on the bottle wearing overalls and holding a pitchfork.

I'll be dead before I'm caught wearing overalls.

Farmer Amby's pizza sauce is pretty basic. It's in this pizza dough recipe if you scroll down a bit. Like the marinara recipe, in place of the 28oz canned crushed tomatoes, I use a 6oz can of tomato paste and about 2 lb. of crushed fresh tomatoes. If you don't like tomato bits/chunks, stick it in your blender until it hits your preferred smoothness level. With fresh 'maters, I cook it down for an hour or so to thicken it up & improve the flavor before using it on the pizza. If you have the freezer space, you can cook up big batches of it, then measure it out and freeze in plastic containers. The day before pizza, let the frozen sauce thaw 24hr or so in your fridge; if you premake the dough, resting it overnight in the fridge also improves the dough.

Most of my remembered dreams seem to be about cats, but I don't know if I'm in a sense8 cluster with cats or if my GM is impatient about me leveling up in the Crazy Cat Lady PrC. The feline sense8 thing could explain my mint addiction though.

Make that 500:1. Possibly 499:1 now that I've goaded him into not doing it just to spite me, but I don't think he can resist insinuating female nudity.

Sad Day:
Gonna have to euthanize most of my dogs. Maybe all of them. Got too attached to the little critters when they were born, and couldn't find any takers for 'em; managed to give away three, but had 6 left over!! Didn't even really like dogs till their mother adopted me a couple years back, and these little ones deserve better than I can give 'em -- too bad our animal shelter has one of the highest kill rates in the state. Might as well take care of it myself, right?

Absolutely soul-crushing. Nothing worse than admitting defeat. But, it happens.

I scarcely remember my dreams, these days. The last two I can well recall involved:

  • running through the service/maintenance areas of some mountain resort to get away from Eldrazi-animated peppermints, abandoning my ex-girlfriend and her parents in the chaos
  • hydroplaning a Greyhound bus on a post-apocalyptic highway somewhere out west

Pretty weird, huh?

I have recurring dreams about riding in a black thunderbird with a cartoon platypus.

I also have recurring dreams where I'm being chased by various government agencies because they think I'm an alien, even though I'm not.

Finally, when I was going through puberty, I'd have dreams about being the one to rescue Daphne in Scooby Doo. That's also when I discovered I could control my dreams, which admittedly made sleep time all the better.

Note to self. When someone has a temper-tantrum once. They are more likely to do it again. Best to block them early.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yeah, we made sure our kids early on knew that tantrums won't get them anything, so they don't throw tantrums.

I have no idea what to do with adults who do it, beyond as you say just walk away as soon as they start.

Life's too short to b*+&@ about everything, so I don't get that mentality. :-)

I don't know what's funnier, the fact that someone told Nobodyshome his thread title is wrong, or the fact they waited how many months to do it.

Honestly, the whole thing cracks me up equally. At least they're polite about it, so that's progress. :-D

We got the kids popsicles to eat, Tiny T-Rex left one to melt, so now there's a sticky purple puddle on the kitchen floor, no ants will touch it.

Five feet away there's the dog dishes, he knocked one piece of dog food. It's getting swarmed by at least a hundred ants... or it was, before I swept in with my vinegar sprayer.

I'm pretty sure I should toss out the popsicles.

Well, I have to admit, it irritates me more than it should. Primarily because he is pedantically incorrect ("silly moments" is an accepted idiom in U.S. English), and because I just plain don't want to engage. And flagging his post just seems petty.

So either it's an ill-conceived "joke", or it's just mean-spirited. Either way, I don't care for it, but I'm going to ignore it rather than clutter up my thread with an argument about the semantics of U.S. English.

He's just trolling, he posts once or twice a week in AP threads, always with petty corrections or insulting comments. I wouldn't let it bother you. :-)

My favorite thing he did was tell Magnuskn he did something wrong with Wrath of the Righteous. That argument took out at least three pages (and some of my best Bores of the Tickwood material) of the Wrath is failed thread.

Good times!

Oh: I was pretty sure it was just a one-off joke, based off of being technical rather than functional.

In other words, I found it kind of funny... 'cause I'd have found it funny at myself, as well.

(Though you have mentioned a number of funny moments, as well*, so, for what it's worth, there is that.)

* In both definitions of the word. You've mentioned asides about humorous brief periods of time, and you've mentioned funny things of significance.

Pretty sure Tammy did something "wrong" with Wrath of the Righteous - whenever I mention her, it gets all screwy and ashamed and runs off. Girl power~!
