I will willingly fall for the bikini trap. Any cat pics will be reciprocated.

Gonna have to send me your mobile phone number then.

Oh, if he does he should totally put you in our group chat! I don't want bikini pics, I take enough bikini selfies, but I do share work photos (some might say to a fault).

I prefer taking pictures of scenery outdoors. I hope there's plenty of snow this winter...

I could kiss you.

It's funny that you post that while clothed.

I can send you a lot of cat pictures in return.

Too far south. Until COVID lightens up I'm not touching I-5 with a 10' pole.

I'm sure there's a bizarre joke in there somewhere.

So... having 90˚+F weather in October isn't unusual for us; there's usually an "Indian Summer" that comes along in late September or early October that bakes us.

But, as I said, this is our FOURTH 90˚+F heat wave, which I don't remember ever happening, and when I got up this morning at 5:50 am it was already 78˚F outside. I don't know that I recall another heat wave where it didn't drop into the 60s overnight.

Today will likely be... unpleasant...

you are living on the wrong coast. Everything is backwards there.

Okay. One of the people who I was referring to upthread just resigned today. Not a surprise but still a disappointment. Keeping on moving, though.

Don't let working from home turn into a situation where you are looking for work elsewhere.

Oh, gotcha. I don't believe that will be an issue here, but I'll keep the warning in mind.

Hello, everyone.

Meeting with Gorbacz and his wife canceled. The current situation is not particularly favorable for meetings. Especially that Gorbacz's wife (who would be the one driving them for five hours) is a ER doctor and quite overworked these days.

Got my first job interview on Monday!

Feeling more confident than I was job searching five years ago, but just the thought of the impending interview is stressing me out. Will be prepping through the weekend...

Good luck on the job interview! Still waiting for a few myself, though most jobs I've applied to haven't even answered.

Yep. Sunburned in mid-October during a heat wave.

Welcome to the Bay Area!

And yeah, TS, don't sweat it. Once you've got a few years' experience in the field, it's pretty much being honest, showing them what you bring to the table, and that's usually all you need.

Being old is good.

Not yet, but one will be up soon. I wanted to get an idea of interest from here in the threads first =)

So far I've got you and VE, with Woran possibly joining up when she's feeling better. I'd like one or two more, if possible, if anyone else might be interested!

The irony? It's on a website that blocks itself when I try to view it in incognito mode on Chrome or in protected mode of Opera.

I'm supposed to be writing my progress reports this morning.
Technically, I've had all week to do them; they're due tomorrow.
I'm having THE WORST time getting started.
This is one of my least favorite parts of my job.
And it should be so easy. All I have to do is write a long paragraph on each child, explaining what they're good at, what makes them tick, their learning style, their successes, and their challenges, in a way that both the parents and the director will find palatable.
And I know *what* to say about each child... I mean, I feel I know this particular class better than I've known any other class I've had in thirteen years of teaching. And the parents like me and are particularly well-disposed towards me this year, so that part isn't even a factor this time around. And I've done this over two dozen times before. And it should be so easy.
And it's never easy.

Well, it's "done". After around 6 hours of work yesterday (yes, CY, I know, I'm a lightweight, but it was 98˚F with a blistering sun), and another 2 this morning, all of the stuff from the garage and studio shed has been sorted, discarded, and/or generally put in some semblance of order.

It's a major milestone for me.

But I'm under no illusion that it's "over":

- Even after taking a Prius-load to the dump yesterday, there's at least another Prius-load of junk sitting in the corner of our yard, waiting for either attrition (I can usually squeeze at least one extra garbage bag into our weekly trash, and sometimes our neighbors have room), or by another dump run (it's only 1.5 miles away, so it's more finding free time on a weekday to do it.

- A LOT of the hardware, especially screws, nails, and drill bits, went into one giant drawer o' "sort this later). I'd estimate I have around 60 pounds of loose hardware to sort... some day.

- The studio proper, kitchen, Impus Minor's bedroom, and our bedroom could all still use purging and sorting.

So it's more that all the stuff that we paid thousands of dollars over the years to store has been dealt with, and now it's just dealing with stuff that's inside the house, which is a much better winter project.

The only real worry is the ping-pong table. At the moment, all of the bathroom and laundry stuff is packed into the studio shed awaiting the bathroom rebuild, so the ping pong table can't fit in the shed. We're still looking at high 70s/low 80s temps for the next 10 days at least, but eventually it's going to rain, and when it does I'd like the ping pong table somewhere relatively dry.

Ah, well, for the moment I get to rest on my laurels. Which is a really weird thing to call your butt.

I'm playing a pathfinder society game online.
There are 3 goblins.
One is naked.
One becomes large when raging.
One sets things on fire.

Their plan for dealing with swamrs is to let the big goblin wade in, draw in the swarms, and the fire goblin just fireballs him and the swarms.

They all agree this is a good plan and if the big goblin dies then that is a worthy death.

Dare I ask what the naked goblin does in that scenario?

I finished painting my Elric miniature today (Games Workshop did minis for most of the Eternal Champions in the early/mid '80s. The complete (or even incomplete) set goes for silly money, even in horrible condition, but the individual figures can be had at a reasonable price, if you're lucky). I've already got Corum; if I can get hold of Erekose as well, I shall have the Three Who Are One in my very own home. How about that?
