Naughty, but sweet.

I'm also a big fan of Dawn of the Peck from season five, which totally nails turkeys.
I dont understand how anyone could dislike this show. Its a bit dry at times, but its hilarious.

I absolutely agree. :-)

I find it hit or miss.

Some of it's dry. Some of it's gross. Some of it's weird. Some of it's mixed. Some of it's silly. Some of it's sarcastic. Some of it's heartwarming. Some of it's sweet. Some of it's pleasant.

One of the problems, I think, is that it sometimes tries to have conflicting things at same time.

It's like food flavors. Sometimes, there are two different great foods, but they don't go well together. Sometimes, of course, seemingly different flavors can go well together, but sometimes they don't.

And, most importantly, different people have different tastes. Things that taste good (or are funny) to one are definitely not to another.

So I can understand. Even when I really like something, I can understand when someone doesn't. I disagree with them in that I like it, even though they do not, but I don't think they are "wrong" to feel that way - it's just a personal preference.

Speaking of, time to head to class so I can start learning the blue belt form.

Huh, sounded a lot like my old martial arts school.

It was great... until we moved two hours away, and couldn't make the trip more than once a month, and we had to go to a different one.

Sorry, Clem, but the work orgy has been and gone.

However, I just got around eight Fighting Fantasy books for £2, so you're welcome to one of those, if you like.

I found a baby timber rattlesnake when I was working on tearing out a yard, little guy made super adorable little *pings* when he attacked my shovel and tried vainly to bite through my steeltoe boots.

We let him free on the adjacent golf course. :-)

Should have checked that leak on the street. Should have called about that negative balance on the utility bill. Now we get to see how much water the city charges us on the next bill, because it was just to the right of the city's responsible area and just inside ours. :/

L5R will be wrapping up soon. The GM says we have one arc left.

Another player is taking over and we are going to be playing 5th Edition after that.

God help me, I read the PHB...and...I really...really...really like it. It's just so streamlined and simple! It's like Pathfinder for Dummies!

At least we already have a plumber coming out to check the garbage disposal. Hopefully he can fix the leak and we can turn the water main back on. Then it's just a question of money.

I'm glad you like the look of 5e! I find bounded accuracy cool, but underwhelming. It. Ales me feel like there isn't enough of a skill improvement from first to twentieth (or beyond) skill. But I know many disagree - and there is much to like about the system, as well! So good luck and good gaming!

I have about 3 and a half months to learn basic trigonometry on my own, having never taken a pre-calculus course. I must then use this knowledge to pass a calculus readiness test, or I shall not be permitted to take the GIS class I need. And have I mentioned that I wriggled my way out of taking high school geometry?

OK, since we're talking about school, it's

    NobodysHome's Story Time:
I had an Indian friend who really, really wanted to get into U.C. Berkeley. His parents expected it of him. His entire extended family expected it of him. But his grades weren't up to snuff.
So he hired a blond-haired, blue-eyed friend to take the S.A.T. for him.

The friend dutifully got a fake I.D., showed up at the testing site, and, in a classic moment of ad lib, when the tester looked curiously at the I.D. and asked the Aryan, "Dhruv?", he responded in a thick Indian accent, "What are you, racist or something?"

The tester immediately let it drop, he got a respectable 1530, and Dhruv got into U.C. Berkeley...
...only to flunk out in under 2 years because, gee... it's not just getting in that's hard. It's the classes, too!

    Go figure...

    And in a twofer, it's

    NobodysHome's Story Time #2:
Both my father and I were professors. Both of us were employed by administrators who did not understand basic mathematics.

  • Mandate #1: Every class shall be given an average GPA of 2.0. Instructors giving their classes a higher GPA must explain their decision in writing to the administration.
  • Mandate #2: Any student with a GPA of below 2.0 for two consecutive semesters shall be expelled from the school.
  • Yes. The administration mandated that half the student body flunk out of school every semester. Rather impressive.
My father, being chaotic good, gave his classes a 3.0 GPA and ignored the note. Being the chair of his own department, he did not choose to discipline himself.
Me, being Lawful Good, gave my classes whatever GPA they'd actually earned (usually between 2.3 and 2.7, depending on the class) and dutifully wrote the note.

But boy, did we get into fights on that one!
Father: "You should just ignore the policy and do what's right!"
Son: "But the policy is WRONG! We need to educate the administration and get them to change it!"

And that is when you learn about tilting at windmills. NO administrator wants to be the one who's "soft on grades".

    *SIGH*
