Now I am wanting to check out what this Red vs Blue thing is about...

I never made it more than five episodes in. It was pretty slow...

Never even heard of it, is it a cartoon, or internet show, YouTube phenomenon...

Internet show using screens from Halo 2, at least at first. Mildly amusing from what I saw, but if it gets good, it takes more than five episodes. IMO if you can't grab me by episode five, how can you grab me at all? Five is enough time to get in the flow and set your style. To be honest, most shows I only give two, because the pilot sucks half the time.

Last submission for the wayfinder sent. I could go to sleep now except everyone and their dog around are blowing fireworks... It's like, I don't know, end of the world was coming or something...

Crap. I am out of pain killers and I feel headache incoming...

Weather change? But for better or worse?

Or is that just the left over of flu-something clinging to my throat recently?

Caffeine, ginger, and temple massage can alleviate headaches somewhat.

I got wrapped into GTA V for the last five pages. What happened when I was gone?

Also I have tamales. And corn chips with queso. And cervezas.

Apparently, it's Cinco De Mayo, not New Years.

Just as well, I like bean dip more than fireworks, and tortillas way more than liquor.

Cinco De Mayo is a state of mind, not a time of year.

Disclaimer: it is also a time of year.

Red vs Blue. It's particularly funny if you played the Halo series.

In later seasons, it gets surprisingly complex, dark, interesting, and sad. I'm only on Season 10, so don't know what happens yet. I watch maybe 2-5 episodes as I am drifting off, so I don't get bored.

Oh, right. NSFW.

Wait a minute?!? When did the Red Drazi get a foothold. This is a two party system. Eliminate them!

The kids room and living room are both clean and vacuumed, and in the case of the living room, furniture has been rearranged, which I actually do quite often.

Pretty much all of the first season was sort of a pilot, in that it was mostly just loose gags using the Halo engine and playing around with Machinima tools.

Given that each episode is only like five to seven minutes long in the first few "seasons", I'd say that's about equivalent to the full hour long of a normal show's pilot episode.

The second season is when they actually start doing something with a story beyond just gags and jokes, and it becomes pretty exciting from there. The later seasons even start having some longer episodes; though the average ones are still between five and ten minutes, some of the more climactic ones, and almost all of the season-finales, are fifteen to twenty.

No, but I spend the first week of the new year doing all those things. It helps me destress after the holidays. The cleaning begins tomorrow! :)

So can the shiatsu I learned to cure my own headaches... Unfortunately my magic fingers are powerless against migraines but they are amazing at removing muscle tension and sinus pressure headaches.

I carefully logged my mileage this year in a little book I kept in the driver's door pocket. It snowed a couple of weeks ago and a hunk of snow fell right into the book when I opened the car door.

That's when I discovered that I was using a gel pen for my mileage.

Now I have a pretty, tie-dyed sort of patterned book. No miles, but it's pretty.

There are pressure points for migraines in the meat between the thumb and forefinger, and in the notches of the orbit just over the pupil. Pressing on those eliminates migraine pane as long as the pressure is held.

Unfortunately, it doesn't eliminate the headache, and your hand/face will eventually bruise, so it's only good for relief of those "kill me now" moments.

I live in California. We call a nice big Mexican-American fusion lunch normal around these parts, no matter what time of year it is.

Where are fireworks on New Years Eve a thing? And why can't I eat tortillas with bean dip while drinking liquor and watching fireworks?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Any excuse to shoot fireworks happens in the south. New year's has more than any holiday short of fourth of July.

Also, I love Mexican food, so it wasn't an insult to point out cinco!

There are points to remove a migraine but it's like a couple dozen in sequence and not really something I can do to myself.

They do fireworks here as well, they shoot them off the big glass bank on the capital square, we don't go.

That's weird.

Mexican food is cool. Also Mexican folklore. Makes me glad my Pathfinder campaign settings are almost universally Post-Colonial American. It started out because I can never choose between Western European fantasy and East Asian fantasy, and in a setting that's supposed to look like the West Coast it makes perfect sense combining the two and throwing in some nice Mediterranean and Native American flavors. And Mexico is right there. Mexican flavors in Pathfinder are awesome. And we haven't even touched the East Coast or South America or the Caribbean or Hawaii yet. This is why American fantasy is my thing. You don't even need to lose the sword and bow tech level if you are like me and love Eberrontech. Also, as a California native and urban planning student, the question of "What could Eberrontech San Francisco, San Jose, and Los Angeles look like" is fun to play with. Also the Western flavor of the Gunslinger starts making all the sense, while portraying Swashbucklers as Zorro kinda fits. Want to explore an interesting new biome? Temperate rainforests right above California.

We also include a lot of Mexican flavor influence our diet, more texmex then west coast.

Paying Far Cry 4. Got it at the same time as GTA V, but this is the first I've played it because GTA V is some engrossing shiznit. Pagan Min is absolutely hilarious so far. Also like how my American protagonist getting all mixed up in exotic Third World politics actually has a deep personal connection to the country. Way better than "random American dude goes to Exotic Third World for some reason and makes the political decisions for them despite having little connection to the country". Game is gorgeous, too.

Combat is interesting so far. I had to move through a village with a few Royal Army dudes who had a snow leopard in a cage. I threw bait to attract a bear, thinking I could mop up who lived and execute the cat in it's cage. Nope. One of the soldiers accidentally broke the cage while frantically shooting at the bear, letting the leopard loose to rip his face off and stalk about the village while the bear lulled about the bodies. I killed the bear easily enough, but know I"m moving through the village and I have no clue where the snow leopard went. Wonderful.

Enough to make one paranoid, it is.

I ended up finding it the hard way, but somehow survived the resulting fight.

I finally got my license in the mail. Right on the last day of the year, too. It's a class M1, though, so it isn't a driver's license. I'm now legally allowed to operate motorcycles and mopeds (Well, okay, I also was when I had the temp, but this is more official), but I not cars. I don't even know how to drive a car (I have a learner's permit, but only because that's required for my M1 license). Now to save up money for a used moped and look into the possibility of renting a bike next time I visit my parents. Also, now to confuse people about the fact that I'm one of the few people licensed to operate motorcycles but not cars (that's, like, half the reason I did it right there).

I'd do congragulatory shouting, but I probably can't afford a moped for a good while, so I doubt I'll get to use my license for months.
