Currently watching Jurassic World.

"We're going to get arrested, they'll shave our heads, and we'll have to make root beer in the toilet."

New favorite movie quote.

I think part of Chris Pratt thinks that he's still filming Parks & Recreation-- at least three or four times during Jurassic World, he's looked directly into the camera, and the movie isn't even half over yet. He did the same thing in Guardians of the Galaxy too. Maybe it's intentional. I don't know.

What the f%+& is Jimmy Fallon doing in this movie? It's just like when he randomly showed up for 30 seconds in Band of Brothers. I think he just wanders onto film sets and demands cameo roles.

I have noticed that the forums tend to lose a lot of steam on the weekends in general. Seems like a lot of people log on at work.

It's fun to log in from work on my phone.

Yep, count me in as a work browser. I tend to be busy with other things - Neverwinter, Pokemon, or other games, or just reading or browsing forums/sites blocked at work - when I'm at home.

I'm just usually busy with empire stuff.

Currently binging my way through Red vs. Blue. I only watched the first handful of seasons and apparently it went on a long time after that. Been worth a few good laughs. =)

I just woke up, worked until midnight last night, it being the day layaways must be picked up, I was sadly quite busy.

Did 5e finally kill off everyone's enthusiasm?

I GMed Pathfinder on Sunday and played D&D 5th on Monday. Then I got sick.

I looked through the 5e books at a store, once.

Had a good long laugh at the head size of the halfling in the PHB (I've seen hot air balloons that are smaller) just wasn't impressed.

Also I have an active boycott of WotC for 4th edition forgotten realms and Magic: The Gathering (which I hate, so very much!).

3 people marked this as a favorite.

I found 5th edition to be a decent to good update of 2nd edition - which is where I cut my teeth. It just doesn't have anything to do with 3rd edition. The systems are very different. The art is a bit impersonal, but oh my sodding god so much better than the inane "always action and heavy linework" art of 4th edition.

4 people marked this as a favorite.

Eh. 5e is alright. However, I like Paizo and Pathfinder way too much to take the time to learn another system. Besides, I doubt I'd find a crowd this entertaining over at Wizard's site.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Didn't WotC shut down their community site? Or was that an unfounded rumor? I never liked navigating over there... the people who built their site were not people who browse the internet obviously.

Especially since they canned the message boards, nothing there but echoes and loss.

he has a LOT of friends, Hollywood is more like a high school cafeteria than not.

I'm not interested in 5th ed because I'm far more interested in my own campaign setting.

I'm not interested in 5th ed because it lacks an OGL.

Mwahahahahaha!!!

60 degrees tomorrow!

Take that southern FaWtLites

For one day! one beautiful, tho incredibly rainy day, we'll be as warm at the peak of the day, as you are in the morning, when you wake up.

Mwahahah-... I might need to rethink, whom is getting taken here...

{shivers} It's, like, almost 80° F with high humidity down here in FL.

Coming home to our waterlogged yard with kiddie snow shovels scattered about, and a Jack-o-Lantern fully collapsed in decay.

The General (my wife): Oh, our yard isn't helping us look classy.

Pea Bear: Mom, that's because we aren't classy.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Cap, what's the story behind your kids' nicknames?

3 people marked this as a favorite.

My daughter's name starts with a P, have called her Pea Bear, or Sweet Pea, or a few other nicknames since birth.

Tiny T-Rex loves dinosaurs.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I should probably start calling her Sweet Pea on the boards now that she's almost a teenager (which she's been warning me would happen since she was 2, it was cute then, not as much now:-D)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Unsurprisingly, I've had quite a few nicknames growing up.

One when I was a baby-toddler, another as a young kid, a nickname in high school-college age (home schooled except driver's ed, didn't go to college), then a couple different ones for different jobs, and now of course I have Captain Yesterday. :-)

This, plus all the bazillions of 3.5/PF stuff I have, plus I'd have to learn a whole new system while everyone in my group knows 3.5/PF pretty well.

I'm at the live theater: feeling classy!
(My wife taught one of the leads!)

Gonna be a long night on Brute Squad.

Just as busy, if not busier than Thanksgiving.

Whah? Wait a minute! I thought she was a couple of months older than Impus Major, who's now 14, has dropped from an alto to a bass, and is showing his first signs of peach fuzz.

At 4'10". And 98 pounds.

NobodysWife's longest, bestest friend came over one day, he said, "Hi, Auntie Whirlwind!", and she responded, "Ew! Ew! That deep voice coming out of that tiny body! That's just wrong! Don't talk to me any more! No; that's not right. Don't talk to me until your height catches up with your voice!"

We have an... interesting... house.

I just finished my first of 4 Live-Action Ninja Turtles (anti Bullying) shows.

1 Down, 3 more to go this weekend. :P

Sounds like my cousin. His voice changed when he was 14 and about 5'2" / 100 lbs. Over the next few years, though, he grew like a weed, and now, at 19, he's 6'3" and 140 lbs. Still can't grow facial hair worth a damn, though that's fairly common in my family.

Speaking of measuring things, one of the framers at work always gets the ' and " marks for feet and inches mixed up. After the most recent incident, in which he marked a stud bay as being fourteen and a half feet across, I've got a mind to find him and ask him if he's ever seen This Is Spinal Tap.

HEMA group go out drinking... FOR CHRISTMAS!

A terrifying experience for all of us, not to mention innocent bystanders. Lucky we didn't have our swords with us.

In addition, trains are shaggified due to Storm Desmond. Took me nearly an hour to get home.

Hahahahahah~! Just caught up! I hadn't read FAWTL all day... that... that was just great.

Can't make that kind of timing up, if I tried!

But you make some classy boulders, Cap. I know you can be classy if you want! I believe in you!

(Also, note how I said I was feeling, not that I was... ;D)

I thought Desmond was last week.

New Monsters!

I paid $40 for two tickets to see Star Wars. Guess I shouldn't be surprised. Biggest movie premier of, like, the decade, and I'm seeing it Monday of opening week, which is Christmas week, in downtown San Francisco in a gigantic theater. Of course it's bloody expensive.

Why am I drinking whiskey at 1230 on a work night? Why do I even have whiskey?

What the hell is up with the manufacturer, anyway? Like, they literally made a bourbon, but they won't call it a bourbon, because reasons and scoffing and etcetera.

Jack Harper liked bourbon. He also thought that he could control millennia-old alien robot demigods with his mind. Draw your own conclusions.

Oddly enough, I'm up sneezing my head off after a wee dram of Scotch.

I think technically I should be using my EpiPen right now.

Next time, don't mix it with so much cat hair. I've found that helps.
