Remember when? Then you are old; Me too.

*Gets dressed*

Well, I remember the Model I TRS-80 with 4K Ram. And no built-in support for a modem of any sort. So, yes, I'm old. So get off my lawn!

I had a VIC-20 and a Commodore-64 (yes, 64. We weren't fancy enough for the 128). Also a Colecovision with an Atari adapter. Oh, and for the VIC and Commodore we had tape drives (using standard audio tapes, of course) as well as 5.25" floppies. The VIC also used cartridges for a lot of its programs. We did have a 300 baud modem for the Commodore, but never used it.

Ah, those were the days. Everything that we take for granted in today's computers was leading-edge, even experimental, back then. For instance, how many of us are aware that the C-64's Video chip was used in the original IBM PC's CGA card?

Just to let everyone know, I won't be on-line very much tomorrow. I have been offered, and have accepted a four hour security detail in a nearby city (Greensburg, for those familiar with SW PA) from 8 to noon. I will not be home until 2 or 3 PM.

When you are tired of getting other people's urine, mucus and vomit on you on a daily basis, you are tired of teaching preschool.

Or possibly German fetish porn.

Also, I have spent more time this week giving marketing tours, making building repairs, meeting with parents, and doing random janitorial crap than I have actually giving lessons. And my best work friend handed in her notice yesterday because she's finally had enough of the owner's crap.

Remove the vomit and it looks a lot like my job too. But at least I get everything packed xD

It's the equivalent of True Strike, for skills. I think I remember seeing something like it in Eberron. Oops, sorry, PHB II. But that one is a second level spell and only grants +4 to non-craft skills. Like that spell, mine is unsuited for long-term efforts like crafting, but is okay for anything else. Such as K(History) to learn the history of an obscure place.

Edit: Could also be placed in a magic item, like a headband that provides the bonus continuously.

Yeah, I recognized the true strike similarity immediately - mostly, I was just curious if you were interested in promoting it as, "here's a neat thing I made!" or more as, "I have this one campaign that I think this would be good for..." or more as, "I think I'd like to adopt this into my house rules, as a general spell!" sort of thing.

I actually have retained the one non-prestidigitation/non-healing low-level spell I'd actually want, if I could, for real life: scholar's touch. It makes an appearance in almost every game I run or play as, usually as a lost or unknown spell that is continuously freshly learned or rediscovered by someone new.

(That said, if our Kingmaker game ever finishes, it's going to be pretty common, as it's freely spread across that kingdom, and the King aids the Kingdom's economy by selling magic items on the side - mostly prestidigitation, scholar's touch, and ring of sustenance items - and then drops that money directly into the Kingdom's economy. He's joined the Arcanamurium, and teleports there every week to teach lessons as a special guest professor, and peddle magic items in Absalom.)

Everything you posts costs you one dollar and ten cents for every person who either reads it, looks at it, or otherwise notices it, and every favorite I give (either to you or another) costs you another 55 cents, all payable directly to me, so...

Note that these prices are exclusive to Vidmaster7, and may or may not apply to others...

I think it's because the edit boxes for posting have a fixed length. Maybe somewhere around 1,024 characters.

Trying to get a meager amount of sleep between the time I got home and the time I need to get ready seems to be a lost cause. So I might as well just stay up.

Break a leg!

Or don't if it's against the rules.

And hey, you can always enter them in Fight Club afterwards to recoup the cost. :-)

At last my nit-pickery is validated as The Guardian includes the correction to that football article I (and, probably, a bunch of other Swedes and Italians who remember the 80:s) alerted them to.

How I got the kids to behave today.

I said "if you want to horse around you have to clean up first"

Sure, the living room is a mess, but the kids are behaving. :-)

That moment where you specifically try to get a massive hangover for reasons of plausible deniability, and wake up in the morning feeling absolutely fine.

I've found other ways to break the forums.

For instance, there's only a finite amount of times you can change your avatar.

Huzzah! :)

They didn't do a thing where they knelt on the floor and somebody swung a sharp blade at them and they had to dodge, did they?

Somebody told me that was a thing at HEMA on Wednesday, but I'm not sure they were telling the truth.

So, now I'm home, and dead tired. The assignment was to provide extra security as a supplement to the University Police for this year's graduation ceremony. I'll need five hours of sleep in order to function. See everyone at around 9 PM.

Remember, what happens in Fight Club, stays in Fight Club.

That's all I know, i've never actually seen it. I assume Ed Norton gets punched in the face (Ed Norton was always getting punched in the face in movies at that time, truly a golden age of cinema).
