The theory is that adults that enjoy being spanked learned to associate it as a form of love at a young age (I'm punishing you because I love you.) That parental love gets generalized so the person being spanked learns to associate being spanked with feelings of "love".
Hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh~!
I can say with absolute certainty, that, unless this is just a, "Some people might maybe develop this way, sometimes." that this is a load of nonsense.
Soap box:
little off topic but research suggests you should never spank your children while you are angry (you should be calm and collected) because children learn a lot more by what they see you do; not by what you tell them. So spanking them while you are angry teaches them that hitting while angry is acceptable.
This, however, is super correct.
Also, you're less in control over yourself and have a higher likelihood (however unlikely it may be) of doing something you'll regret by accident.

well one thing about psychology you learn is practically nothing applies to everyone. It is all averages. Also how many people do you know that like getting spanked T-lion?
Inquiring minds want to know
He must have some insight into it :DDDD

Now?
I officially know of one.
Of kids that were spanked when they grew up?
Mmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyybe one?
Depends on whether or not the above speaker experienced such.
Of kids that were spanked when they grew up that find it just a thing some people do (unrleated to themselves in any way)?
Pretty much most all of my high school and college friends that I've ever had a conversation about things they like of that sort.
(Look: high school and college conversations can be weird.)
But that's the thing - I have quite a few points of reference that make no sense in the above theories. It seems more likely that it's an unrelated concept that some people would be prone to enjoying anyway rather than being related to discipline, even if it was seen as a loving act. That explanation feels substantially more Freudian than accurate.
As a personal example, though it bothers me not in the slightest, the idea that it's this super-fun thing or sexual in the slightest was always baffling to me growing up. Even now that I'm an adult, the association is an exceptionally odd one. I find the concept of spanking to be loving but fundamentally discipline, and, while it's legit that others may feel differently, I simply have zero relationship with it. On the other hand, my sisters (also with zero interests, from my understanding) and I were definitely spanked as kids, as were a number of my friends (none of which expressed interest, and, whenever it came up, generally explained that it was weird).
EDIT: to be clear, I don't find it "weird" - everyone has desires they want and things they like. But it's always been just... a thing someone else is interested in for myself and my friends.

So.
Had an interesting dream last night.
Dreamt that I was at a midnight release screening of Starfinder, the Movie. The line was HUGE, but the theatre was even bigger inside than it seemed outside. It was just me going to my knowledge, and after stopping at the concession stand to get some snacks, I went inside for my showing.
I sit down and everyone is talking. Normaly that pisses me off in theatres, but it created a pleasant buzz/drone noise that I found incredibly soothing. I'm lucky it was soothing, because it turns out there was something wrong with the projector, and people were becoming raucous. Eventually they just started razzing the screen, and some of the jokes were funny. Lots of attack the darkness jokes.
Eventually I get up to stretch my legs, as other people are running around, and who do I run into?
LYNORA.
No really.
It looked kinda like her. I remember she was REALLY short, and looked like an odd and even salacious combination of her pic and her icon/Shelyn. I asked her if she was who she looked like and she said something to the effect of "who do I look like?" I said Lynora and she said "yeeeess....?" in a long leading who-is-this-stranger way. I said I was Freehold and she hugged me and we started laughing.
Then the movie came on and there was a massive struggle for everyone to get back to their seat.
Then I realized the light from the screen was TOO bright- it was the morning sun coming in through the window.
Then I woke up.
It was so....so very REAL. I could smell the popcorn. I remember distinct conversations people were having, everything. The chairs were SUPER comfortable. I remember that Lynora was almost comically short, although her proportions were that of a normal woman. Was she a dream-halfling of some kind, drawn from the more salacious parts of my subconscious? I don't know.
I am still a little freaked out by it. I will be checking under my bed for Lynoras of negotiable sizes tonight.

Lucky bastard. I'm just having the annual "it's almost the first day of the new school year, so direct from your subconscious, here's a montage of all of the worst possible things that could go wrong" series of dreams.
And they can get pretty crazy.
One year, I dreamt that a bear had followed me back from Yosemite and was prowling around campus, and I had to keep the children from getting near it when they all wanted to treat it like a puppy, and the head of school told me that (a) it was my fault, and also (b) bad for publicity, so I needed to sort it out quickly.
My subconscious and I are clearly not on as friendly terms as Freehold and HIS subconscious are.

Good boy.

not really, but I will have to keep it off social media for a while, or my mom and dad, and brother will chew me out for it, even if I've more than plenty in my bank account ATM.
Heh... Pun unintentional, but still funny.

Conversations you never thought you would find yourself having before children, Vol. 283
Me, awkwardly, to the waitress in the gyro diner:
"I... am... REALLY... sorry. My son has this... thing... about drinking condiments."
(I hold up a squeeze bottle of mustard apologetically.)
Waitress:
"It's okay; it's happened before. We clean them."
I think I find her response more disturbing than the actual behavior. It's happened before? Condiment drinking is a trend among preschoolers? WTF?

Okay, so my marathon lasted an hour, but I'm tired, and the beautiful landscapes nearly brought me to tears... Seriously, though... this is some great stuff and redeems any past grievance I may have had with Zelda stuff, and the controls are intuitive. Like, I learned them in a dark room, devoid of any light save my switch intuitive.

Also, I felt like my paycheck was pretty light this week, so I checked it out (it's all online, no actual paper to look at) and they didn't credit me for the 16 hours of vacation time I had taken. So, I don't actually need the money right now, but it would definitely be nice. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the hassle to try and get them to retroactively apply the vacation time (I've done it before, and it's kind of a pain) so I get paid for it, or just let it slide and use the hours some other time (they didn't subtract the hours, meaning I still have over 120 hours of vacation time saved up).
I'll probably try to get paid, but if they start making it too difficult, I'm gonna say f$%$ it and just keep the hours.
