You may, however the masses of geeks who did enjoy his other works have every right to be excited.

And how can you take issue with Stan Lee's cameos? They're awesome.

we had great fun at the Book Fair, I bought the new novel by Umberto Eco, he was there himself one day earlier. We watched a famous german TV-chef cooking.
Strange thing: hundreds of Manga-Cosplayers, I wasn't even aware that this trend had arrived over here, let alone why they meet at a Bok Fair.

Well, after being pursued for months through the jungle by pigmy headhunters, the long-lost Kristin and Kirk finally made their way back to civilization. Meanwhile, Max's move to the West Coast was not without it's problems, as shortly after he settled in a giant mutated sea lion came ashore and ravaged his neighborhood! And, across town, Gary was stunned to learn that the person he thought was merely an innocent company intern was actually....No, wait! That's my soap opera!

Unfortunately, when I'm not taking the medication, I forget that I have to take the medication. So the trick is that I have to remember to take the medication I need to remember to take my medication. F+#+ my life.

I bought one of those S M T W T F S pill box keeper thingies for my meds. When it's empty, I fill the entire thing with my daily meds and make an eight batch to take that day. I try to take my pills first thing in the morning, even though they kinda make me sick then, so that I don't forget.

If I can't remember taking them, I can check the pillbox and see if today's is empty. If I don't fill the pillbox and use it, I'm horribly hit-and-miss with meds and end up very twitchy and spazzed.

It's not perfect, but it helps a lot, especially if I do it faithfully. Obsessing with a few routine things can really help with ADHD - like the pills, and putting the contents of your pocket in the SAME PLACE every single time you come in the door. I don't hate myself nearly so much when I keep organized and uncluttered. The timer trick also helps me when I can stand to do it. I keep mine in my bag and take it everywhere so I don't lock on to something for too long.

EDIT: It also helps that the Puffin can tell when I'm off meds and will let me know. He likes me better when I can actually focus on a conversation, which helps keep me on track.

Hah! The Forums are nowhere near way too long enough (yet)!
Wheretofore:
The Final Battle
Oh, I suppose I'd better make an explanation. This extract comes from towards the end of the seventh book of The Dark Potter arc, based in an alternate universe where Severus Snape (motivated by love for Lily) tried to help James and Lily fight the Death Eaters, but James still got killed shortly after Harry was born. Anyway, long story short, Lily blaming Dumbledore for failing to protect James, she and Snape leave the world of wizards behind for a while and set up a school (James Potter Hall) for non-wizards, before the events of the arc kick off and gradually drag them (and their family) back into the wizarding world. Highlights of the series include:

Spoiler:
the basilisk rampaging through Hogwarts at the end of the second book with a high body count resulting (including Ginny Weasley) before being finally stopped by Harry, his half-sister Celia, and Draco Malfoy
,
Spoiler:
Igor Karkaroff being killed to resurrect Voldemort at the end of the fourth book
,
Spoiler:
Dumbledore going missing after the basilisk incident, and Remus Lupin taking over the running of Hogwarts for a time, before Dumbledore finally returned to the scene late in the seventh book
, and
Spoiler:
Jenny Riddle, Hogwarts' Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher ever since book three, at last taking down Voldemort a couple of chapters earlier than this in book seven although possibly going insane in the process.
Jenny Riddle -typical quote to Voldemort: 'The trouble is, Voldy, you don't look good in black, whereas I look damn sexy'
.

Basically, following the defeat of Lord Voldemort in the ruins of Hogwarts and the arrival of large numbers of aurors on the scene to mop up any stray Death Eaters, Lily and Severus Snape (plus Harry, Celia, and Harry's girlfriend Luna) have received a couple of messages from Lily's ally, professor Horace Slughorn, that Remus Lupin is in trouble, and they need to bring James Potter's old invisibility cloak to the castle boathouse, to help mount a rescue mission. Professor Slughorn's messages have indicated by lack of codewords that he's being used to lure them into a trap...
So, now that you're all up to speed, an actual extract!
Spoiler:
Walking round the lakeside from Hogsmeade, where they had apparated to, the Snape family met a pair of patrolling Aurors, who nodded politely to Severus, and exchanged a few pleasantries, but gave the indication that nothing was amiss. They assured him that the area was secure, and there were no known Death Eaters active still. Some werewolves had been captured in the battle, and by order of a Wizengamot official were to be put to death at sunset, but they didn’t know which werewolves (apart from one called Fenrir Greyback), or where they were being kept.
The Snapes came into view of the boathouse, which was partially collapsed.
Lily erected a brief charm to keep her last instructions discreet from any magical eavesdroppers.
“I’d like to believe that Horace is simply so tired he’s forgotten to use the code-phrases on two occasions, and that this will be a simple in-under-the-invisibility-cloak, rescue-Remus, and-out errand, but if it isn’t we’re going into the presence of at least one very powerful and dangerous witch or wizard who is mentally unhinged.”, Lily looked around at the others. “I can’t ask any of you to walk with me into this. If any of you want to stay back here, I’ll understand.”
One by one, Harry, Celia, and Luna all shook their heads. Severus squeezed his wife’s hand.
“I’d have liked to have left you at home, girls, but this could have been a diversion to get me away from you.” Lily said. “Okay, let’s go.”
They closed in on the boathouse.
Inside the boathouse they found the roof was almost entirely fallen in, and the internal walls and partitions collapsed. At the far end, the lake was visible, and Jenny Riddle was there, unconscious, wandless, blindfolded, and lashed to several fallen beams atop a pile of rubble. Remus Lupin had been tied to a stake rooted several yards out into the lake, and was dangling unconscious in glowing magical bonds, with improvised weights tied around his feet.
The other staff of Hogwarts were all there, professor Slughorn with a look of horror on his face, and the others all glassy-eyed, either living victims of the imperius curse or dead animated as inferi by the master puppeteer. There was only one person missing.
“Albus Dumbledore!”, Lily shouted. “Show yourself.”
“I’ve adapted a dead man’s handle concept.”, Professor Dumbledore’s voice came from somewhere nearby. “I die or lose concentration, and the spells holding Remus to the stake go, and splash, he drops into the lake. And I’ve established a couple of basic shields to make sure he’s protected from any further spells, so no trying to revive him in the hope that in the event of a plunge he can save himself.”
Professor Dumbledore stepped into view from behind a pile of rubble.
“So glad you could make it, Lily my dear.”, he shunted his spectacles, which seemed to have momentarily slipped, back up his nose.
“You were injured. Throwing yourself in front of a spell to protect Jenny Riddle.” Harry said. “At least that’s what a report said.”
“Ah, Harry. So pleasant to meet James’ son, face to face, at last.”, Dumbledore said. “Yes, I threw myself in front of a spell aimed in the direction of Miss. Riddle. At that point in time, I was despairing of ever being able to shake free of her influence. Fortunately, Horace came around with some potions and fixed me. And even more fortunately, when she engaged in her epic struggle with Voldemort, Miss. Riddle’s attention was sufficiently elsewhere that I was able to finally overcome the compulsions she had placed upon me. A quite remarkable woman, though I’m not sure quite what? I’ve never come across a case of another witch or wizard able to do things with their gaze which she could. And some of the actions she took were quite unforgiveable, but still she has removed Voldemort from the scene, and her misdeeds can be redeemed now through noble sacrifice.”
“Harry’s got the cloak, Dumbledore. Show him, Harry.”, Lily said.
Harry put the carrier bag down and took out the cloak.
“Ah, no, don’t put it on.”, Dumbledore said. “Just hold it.”
He pointed his wand at the cloak and said: “Accio cloak.”, but the cloth in Harry’s hand did not so much as twitch.
“Ah yes, it is the cloak indeed.”, Dumbledore said, looking happy.
“So why do you need it?”, Severus asked. “Why this cloak?”
“The legend of the Deathly Hallows, Severus: The Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, the Invisible Cloak. I’m going to unite them in a great act of magic, and make everything right, by bringing everyone back who’s dead. A long time ago I made a mistake in not seeing Tom Riddle for what he was and killing him. Many kind and innocent people, or brave friends have died since then thanks to Tom and his madness. I should have learned from my experiences with Grindelwald, but I was weak and slow. But now I get to put it all right: Ariana, McGonagall, Flitwick, Trelawney, all those pupils who were killed by the basilisk. Even any muggles unfortunate enough to have been caught up in events; I can bring them all back. And James too, Lily. You’ve always blamed me for his death, and you were right to do so. But now he can live again!” He paused. “Of course, there was a slight concern I had about my plan, but since serendipitously you have brought Harry with you, that concern can fall by the wayside, since Peverell blood will be present.”
“Magic doesn’t work like that, Dumbledore.”, Lily said. “Not on that scale.”
“I understand your scepticism, Lily. You’ve lived for so long without hope, you don’t want to believe; you certainly can’t afford to let yourself have any faith in me, after all the ways I’ve hurt you. Here: Let me show you how wrong you are.”
He raised his wand.
The lake began to ripple, and suddenly a storm seemed to break.

Harry found himself at the centre of a chaotic swirl of magic. Time seemed to be ebbing backwards and swirling forwards. Dumbledore had done something unbelievably stupid.
He was wearing the invisibility cloak.
A gigantic red-headed monster reached out to devour the world.
He heard Dumbledore cry imperio and point his wand at Harry.
He heard himself refuse.
He heard Dumbledore ask him to do something.
He was by the lake, wrapped in the invisibility cloak, as Dumbledore chanted arvadek ardava over and over again.
The ring on Jenny Riddle’s hand split open and broke the world.
She was close to him, and he tore away her blindfold. Her eyes were dark, but unseeing.
The monster was coming, the abomination.
Harry shut his eyes, beneath the invisibility cloak, fighting with every fibre of his being against this.
Where was Celia?
His mother and father were duelling Dumbledore, but Dumbledore’s wand was unbeatable, unbreakable. Professor Slughorn joined them too, an added distraction. Dumbledore lifted his free hand and gave professor Slughorn a cheery little wave, by way of salute and to show off just how unconcerned he actually was and how easy this was.
Dumbledore showed Harry his father, Harry’s real father, James, there in the abomination and told Harry to wave to him.
“I… will… not… Severus… is… my… real… dad… too!” Harry said through gritted teeth.
Dumbledore suddenly smiled, and beneath those glasses on that once kindly face, that was horribly, horribly, frightening.
Dumbledore was getting frustrated with Harry’s lack of cooperation.
Dumbledore frowned.
Dumbledore appeared not to have noticed Celia had vanished, and flicked his wand, whilst still keeping Harry’s parents at bay.
The ring… Oh no, the ring.
Dumbledore split and shouted something back to himself, and in the moment where he was distracted, Celia twirled her wand and was gone.
The red haired abomination shimmered and was gone.
Dumbledore guided the ring through the air to where Luna stood.
Dumbledore twirled his wand, immobilising Luna where she stood right from the start of the fight.
When Dumbledore spoke the word for the second time, Celia created a false image of herself, trying to untie Jenny Riddle.
Imperio!” said Dumbledore again, serenely. Then just for good measure, “Imperio!” again. He needn’t have bothered. Harry tried to resist this time, but he was betrayed by himself.
Dumbledore looked around, confident things were going his way, and saw Celia, her wand apparently abandoned, trying to untie the unconscious and ringless Jenny Riddle. He smiled indulgently and deflected more spells Lily and Severus were sending his way. He sent professor Slughorn staggering back with a tremendous blast of light.
Harry took Luna in his arms, the both of them wrapped in the folds of the invisibility cloak, and the ring on her finger gleamed. She was scared. She loved him dearly, and wanted to resist this, but couldn’t. Their natures were against them.
Somewhere Celia was chanting.
Dumbledore looked around.
Dumbledore saw Celia wandless and trying to undo the unconscious Jenny Riddle.
!” Celia sang.
For a moment Harry was with Luna on a page of parchment, a drawing of ink set by a diviner at the court of the great welsh wizard and leader, Owain Glyndŵr himself. And Owain winked at Harry, and wrote something in his great book. And Glyndŵr drew another picture, of a witch on the edge of a lake.
Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn. Iä Cthulhu, Cthulhu fhtagn!
And the great brazen doors clanged and everything seemed to stop.

It was raining, in the ruined boathouse by the lake. It was hard, driving, rain. Albus Dumbledore had raised his wand, and turned to look in horror to where Celia stood on the lakeside, her wand raised out towards the waters of the lake.
What have you done?” Albus Dumbledore shouted above the rising gale. “What have you done to disrupt the ritual?”
The ripples were spreading rapidly across the surface of the lake, with increasing violence, becoming miniature waves.
Celia pirouetted and stabbed her wand in the direction of Professor Dumbledore.
“Sorry, professor,” she said, and she did indeed sound sincerely so. “If it’s any comfort to you, if this had to happen to anyone, I’d have much rather it had been to someone like Voldemort, instead of to someone just a bit misguided who actually thought that he was trying to fix the world.”
“Oh no, Harry…” Luna said. “That’s not the usual monster of the Black Lake. Celia didn’t just?...”
Harry pressed Luna’s face to his chest, as the rain lashed down, and the storm rumbled overhead like brazen drums and something vast rose from the lake. The surging waves of its rising lapped around Remus, and jolted him awake. They washed across the boathouse floor around the feet of the witches and wizards, and Harry desperately hugged Luna to himself. He didn’t want her to have to see this.
Professor Albus Dumbledore stabbed desperately with the Elder Wand and shouted spells at the eldritch horror reaching out towards him, but to no apparent effect. It reached the shore, and the Elder Wand fell to the ground, and there was a crunch, and no more was heard of Albus Dumbledore. Water sloshed and drove through the boathouse, knee-deep, and amidst the flotsam, the splintered off stake with Remus clinging to it, his magical restraints no more, bobbed. For a moment, the shadow loomed huge over all of them, and then with a final surge and slosh it turned and the waves started to diminish as it receded back into the lake. After a while, there was another brazen clang lost almost in the depths of the storm, and then some sort of tension gradually drained out of the air.
Celia.”, Lily said.
“Yes, I know, mum, it could have eaten all of us, but I figured with possibly the world at stake and the whole natural order of things, that was worth the risk.”
“You are still grounded for the next three months.”, Severus said. “And under most circumstances, if the ministry didn’t have a lot of very strong things to say, in front of multiple Auror witnesses I would be very surprised. Fortunately, since you are still underage, I doubt they would actually send you to Azkaban for what you just did.”
“What was that?”, professor Slughorn asked. “What just happened?”
Remus was coughing and shaking himself on floor.
“Young lady.”, Lily said. “I haven’t finished with you yet. What were you thinking? We were duelling Professor Dumbledore and you pulled a trick like that?”
“I was thinking it was the only thing I could think of that might beat the Elder Wand in the hands of Albus Dumbledore in a hurry.”, Celia said defensively.
“What?...” Professor Slughorn began again.
“She just summoned Cthulhu, professor Slughorn. Cthulhu.”, Lily said.
“Who? What?”, Slughorn asked.
The rain continued to pour down, and the formerly imperiused teachers were starting to stir and shake off the effects of the magic which had enslaved them. The animated corpses of the dead teachers had flopped messily across the floor. The drenching was apparently reviving Jenny Riddle too, tied and blindfold at the top of the now somewhat disrupted pile of rubble.
“We’re getting wet out here, mum.”, Harry shouted. “Isn’t there anywhere warm and dry in the vicinity we could continue to discuss this?”

And now the forums nearly are way too long.... ;)
