This is actually true. There are many accounts throughout histories where wars have ended because women withheld sex until the problem was solved. I'm not joking.

It never ceases to amaze me when people insult other peoples playstyle.

It occurs to me now that I stuck my foot in my mouth...

I didn't mean to say I love when men stare at my breasts, I was just remarking how odd that they weren't.

Did someone insult yours?

Work has kept me away from my browser.

Not me specifically, but PFS in general. Which is one of my playstyles, so yes in a roundabout way.

All I said was I didn't find my players that way! It was a reference to a *past* rant about PFS, from years ago. I mentioned it 'cause I am pretty sure you posted in that thread...if not...well...oops?

Anyway, I don't do that anymore. :-(

I have a friend who's a VC, and even though it's not my thing, he's really opened my eyes up to how great the community of people within are. I didn't mean to be insulting with this latest reply. I actually was trying to congratulate you. I'll delete the post. Sorry, man.

I hope to check out PFS this summer.

I don't think he was talking about you. But, I've been wrong before. So very many times.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Well it was like one to two minutes after I said something along the lines of "Congrats, I'm working on something similar, but I think you know I didn't find my group through PFS, haha" - I didn't think it was very insulting in of itself, but given the timing...

I just was mentioning that I had, in the past, ranted about PFS before, and so I thought it was very public knowledge that I don't like it. But to be honest, when I had nobody to game with at all, it was nice, and I will say while I've met some horrible people there, I've also met some really awesome people. I have a friend who's a VC.

I'm trying to be less of a jerk lately. :-/ Sometimes it's unconscious, and when I am, I try to notice and correct it.

I took it to be gentle ribbing with enthusiasm over your own success.

I assume it was something said in the PFS section. It can get pretty contentious over there.

If it helps, I was going to make a joke about living on America's wang. Just hadn't figured out the particulars of it yet.

BUT NOT THIS DAY!

If you check my TOZ alias posts, you'll find it. I'm not linking it here. This is supposed to be a happy thread, without the drama of other threads.

But is that too easy.

Of course, we are talking about Florida... :-D

I thought it was probably that one.

If it helps, I don't get it either, I think PFS accommodates every play style. Like, every game, a lot depends on the people you play with.

Need to vent.

skip over if you want; not looking to bring people down:

This past week has sucked. First, my sister-in-law ditched out on finishing her character for the new campaign to go to the water park. Next we end up so broke because we forgot to cancel a movie club order that we had to borrow money so I could make it to work. We did get a hold of customer service and cancel it, but the money had already come out and didn't show back up until today, which is unhelpful since I got paid today. And my wife wound up with a severe UTI.
But far and away the worst thing to happen was finding one of our cats dead in our landlords yard. She was in heat and ran out a few weeks ago. We'd seen her around but were unable to catch her. She did the same thing a couple years ago and came back home after about a month. Wednesday at about noon was when we found her. She was next to the road so she may have been hit, but there was no obvious impact trauma. And on more than one occasion my landlord has said he will kill any cats that go in his yard. I wouldn't put it past him to have poisoned her, but I don't want to get tangled in a legal battle with the person I'm buying my house from, especially not knowing for sure what happened. My wife is taking it very hard; this one had claimed her. This is the 4th cat she's lost in 5 years; one was due to old age, and the other 2 to illness (meds didn't help), and now this which is really hard because we didn't have a chance to prepare ourselves.

In happier news, I discovered the joy that is d20monkey and binged through their entire archive. Also I am no longer broke. Yet. The wife is going grocery shopping later so that might not last the day.

On the plus side: staring at the countdown until EA Play starts tick slowly down makes me happy, for the dual heralds of the Next Golden Age, the God of Veils New IP and the King of the Last Golden Age, Mass Effect, have almost arrived.

On the minus side: being constantly reminded that EA has made BioWare their b!+!% sends me into a frothing rage.

A mom at the splash park is stalking around the edges and coaching them on the best way (her way) to enjoy each individual water sprayer/splasher.

They don't look like they're enjoying themselves.

Sounds like someone should toss mom in the pool; then the kids would be having fun.

So apparently my earlier post was post number 1000 for me, including all aliases.

Well, thanks for the sympathy guys. Time for me to hit the hay; work tonight.

5 people marked this as a favorite.

My sympathies as well, Ivan.

Our tale:

We had a "bear cat" named Calliope who greeted every morning with ardent enthusiasm, but spent every night sleeping on NobodysWife's head. If people started making noise in the house, she would purr loudly to drown them out and keep NobodysWife abed.

And some a**hat hit-and-run driver took her out.

It's been nearly 10 years, and my wife still mourns her almost more than any other cat we've owned.

There's a reason that in spite of my general disdain for (artifically-imposed) speed limits, I'll rarely do over 17 mph in residential areas. I'm not going to be "that guy".

In amazeball news, Impus Major's grades are coming in:

  • A straight-up "A" in P.E, surprising... no one.
  • His final Identity, Health, and Society (IHS) project got recorded, and he got a 10/10, putting him up to an A- in IHS.
  • On his math final he ended up missing an entire problem because he didn't see it, finished ahead of time, and still got 85%. His teacher feels that that performance, as well as his incredible improvement, merits an A- in math.

  • 3 grades, 3 A's!

Of course he's not going to keep it up: In his other classes (choir, biology, Spanish) he's at solid C's pre-finals. But it looks like "he of the flurry of D's" is going to finish his first year at high school with a GPA hovering about 3.0!

    Proud papa moment!

Actually, judging from the size difference with The Shredder from the first to the second, I expect by the third The Shredder will be an adorable little kitty cat voiced by Jackie Chan.

But that's just from the ads and toys I've seen.

We're going to get slammed with some severe weather tonight. it's gonna be a big one.

I'm hoping, if we get hail that it hits the car in the places it hasn't been hit yet, thus evening it out.

Had a look and it turns out my CRB is a second printing. Which, I expected, since I got it in February 2010 or so.
