bummer. standing sucks.

Especially when you suddenly discover you are not wearing any clothes. Gotta be extra careful with the cup of decaf.

Huh. Good painkillers then.
One's clothing status is usually not that shocking.

there are no girls on the internet.

But ... but ... Bambi the 19 year old French-Japanese librarian poledancer that I met on that one chatsite has such a sexy avatar! No man would know just what I want like that, surely?

She's as real as I am.

I wanted something that said, "I'm the GM," but went instead with something that was purple and not used by tons of people. The sexy was icing.

Maybe the horns and the fire at least communicate warning.

I haven't seen a lot of people use it; it is definately striking and fairly unique. And it says to me 'you don't know what to expect from this person.'

P.S. - Did I mention awesome online friends? Awesome online friends, too.

Treppa, what did you play at your concert?

I had to pass on being in a production of Pagliacci, because they rehearsed the same time as my choir. But we're working on Mendelssohn's Elija, so that's cool.

We played Dvorak's Symphony No. 8 in G major, Op. 88 and the Tschaikowsky Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D major, Op. 35.

Dvorak went well, but I had major problems in the Tschaikowsky and feel like an idiot. Worst. Concert. Ever. And not in the difficult spots! The entire wind section made mistakes we'd never made before and felt really rocky after the first movement. Ugh. On the good side, I managed the solos in the Dvorak satisfactorily.

Our violin soloist was spectacular. That's a tough piece for an amateur. She's awesome!

I'd hate to pass on a Pagliacci. I love his music.

Only thing I can suggest is maybe working the internets harder. I think if you can outreach to folks beyond car range, it could get your sales higher. Of course you have to domore shipping

Did you try the humpday special?

We're thinking of randomly selecting one item each day to be 50% off with any purchase over $50, while supplies last. We'll post it on our site in the morning, too. Do you guys have a website or Facebook page? You can make your own business page for your particular store for free. You can also set up sidebar ads (for pay, natch).

I'm sorry to hear about the poor communication, Patrick. It does seem to be systemic, possibly because nowadays due to funding, departments are more worried about what's going on inside their walls than making overtures to their neighbors to find out what's going on. Same thing happens at my job all the time.

Happy second birthday AZ! Hope it's better than the 1st.

1. It's FRIDAY!
2. You're off work
3. You have us sending you positive vibes
4. You have the opportunity to try a redo of the bday dinner at a different restaurant
5. It's FRIDAY!
6. THOR!

If that fails there are always BttH! They make any day brighter.

Happy Friday, Fawtly crew.

Today, I may be rather unavailable. Will try to give some update.

My bro-in-law is busy planning Mother's Day. He is 1. having it at my sister's house (Happy Mother's Day, dear!) and 2. Grilling. I hear that 3. maybe be a trip to see Thor. Hahahaha!

I love both of those pieces! Just remember, the performers often notice mistakes that an audience never would.

As for Pagliacci, I think you are thinking of a different composer. Pagliacci is by Ruggiero Leoncavallo - one of the quintessential one-hit-wonders of the classical world.

Yeah, for a little community college music department, the conductors choose good, challenging music. It's Symphonie Fantastique next semester. I already have the music - yikes!

And so the Puffin says about the mistakes, but some of mine were obvious. Arg.

You are right. I have not heard of that work. Wiki time!

Good Morning, FaWTL!!! Woot! it is Friday, however it is a Friday before subscriptions start shipping on Monday, which is going to make me want the weekend to end (that is just wrong). I have band practice tomorrow, gaming on Sunday, and lots of Jude time. Jude had his first trip to the Source, last night. And he snuck out the other night and got his mother a card for mother's day.

Why do I find the idea of a classical one-hit-wonder so funny?

While you're at it, look into increasing the limit on the card. It's already maxed out and all I bought was a bottle of champagne.*

~snickers~ You are probably not far off from the truth. ~sighs and grumbles some more~ Of course it is NOT the CC that sends me e-mails all the time.

Grrrrr... I will never subscribe to anything through Steve Jackson games again. I had a subscription to the JTAS and they kept on continuing it. I thought it would have expired, but it did not. Not as good as getting them so mad and frustrated at you that they take a random swipe at an unrelated group of people and then storm off saying they won't argue with children.

Good times.

The Exchange

I have come to loathe bill collectors, specifically law office bill collectors.

Several years ago my wife had a storage unit, we went to go clean it out when we moved to a new residence that would fit all of our mutual stuff. Only to find out that the lock had been cut on the door to the unit.

Seems they had break ins several times that year. The people were caught but they never let us know and did not check every unit for break ins.

Then my wife gets garnished for several bounced checks. Now we have this horrid credit and less money from her. Been going on for some time. We thought most of it was from medical bills ect.

No as it turns out it was from several bounced checks from the people who stole her shredded checks from an account that was closed years before.

Sent in paperwork from the police department when we found out and thought this was stopped over a year ago. No as it turns out they are re-garnishing her paycheck again, same company by the way. We now have to send them police reports they had already received to stop further garnishment and to maybe get the money back they previously took.

Not to mention all the calls which have started again, saying I have outstanding electric bills in Colorado, I do not, or that I owe thousands in unpaid student loans. I do not. In fact I repeatedly have them check the socials and find out it is not even identity theft but rather some other dude who just happens to have the same name as I.

Makes me want to break something.

Teaching a law class. I could see him, smoking a cigar in the teachers lounge "None of these kids are going to make it."
